Re: Delco Nismo, 1984 300ZX VG30ET Turbo
And... we made Tailem Bend on the weekend for the GT sprint. We weren't the slowest car there by a long shot and we had zero issues and just a great time had by all. Now running S13 coilovers and Nankang AR-1s which made for a much more dynamic package on the day if a little lacking in HP... NOW, it...

Re: Delco Nismo, 1984 300ZX VG30ET Turbo
Also, @delcowizzid - where is the fuel pump voltage setting? I've searched for that before and couldn't find it?
Thanks

Re: Delco Nismo, 1984 300ZX VG30ET Turbo
Awesome, that's somewhere to start :) The alternator died on Classic Adelaide and this is a new one (second hand new one) so it might actually be an issue with the wiring for it and might explain why it randomly revs itself too. I've attached the log from last night too where the car was running pre...

Re: Delco Nismo, 1984 300ZX VG30ET Turbo
Ok, so long time no post so thought I'd update and ask a question... the car is now Blaze Blue plastidip and was used in the Classic Adelaide last year which was a whole lot of fun! 238.jpg We didn't do too badly, but blew a head gasket by the end of the rally, so although we finished we had some wo...

Re: Datsun 240z with L20ET
That sounds spot on for the rod length. We mixed and matched a bit to get everything together so there was always the fear that something wasn't quite right. To get the car on the trailer at the track I had to bleed off some pressure from the fronts.
I know what I'll be doing next.
Cheers!

Re: Datsun 240z with L20ET
That's a good point guys as we did have the master off while working on the engine and got it tested... (the master not the booster) That was the first practical run after putting it back in so I might have to get in there and investigate it!
Thanks again, fingers crossed it's that easy!

Re: Datsun 240z with L20ET
@Charlescrown I hear you, I've had a few 260Z over the years and they pretty much all had head gasket issues. I've got a MLS gasket to go into the L28 engine that I'm building up so that should solve that problem! @Holden202T I hear you there :D @VL400 It was a very confusing failure... I'm still no...

Re: Datsun 240z with L20ET
Hey All, Thought I'd update where Antus left off with this one and with any luck I can keep you posted as this project evolves! Firstly, as Antus said we set out to obtain a good L28 motor from a 280ZX which they are pretty common still so it didn't take too long... Although not a turbo car the moto...
