Good that your happy with the reference but why isnt diag mode working? Grounded the diag request line and not getting constant 10 degrees timing or engine wont idle? Ground the diag line and the engine dies. I really should re-visit that and work out what's going on... Brake lines are now insulate...

ID 8f86 is a Fairchild FM27C010 so that sounds right.
With the TL866 if you know for example it's a 27C010 but not sure on the vendor (and couldn't be bothered looking up the ID) then just un-tick the "Check ID" box in the bottom left of the window.

You shouldn't need a whole wiring harness, just a couple of wires for batt, switched ignition and ground.
For testing RT you don't really need valid sensor data.
I can spare a modded 808 and NVRAM, that's no problem.
