Well, why not simply try "v8 should be at 3 for both" and see how that goes ...

Re: Just a thought...
What if it were possible for members to up/down-vote a thread, based on how useful it is? Then perhaps one could optionally specify a ranking threshold for search results, so as to only get the most useful stuff. The initial thread ranking would be zero, so in a search, you might specify a threshold...

Re: Open Source Hardware
Thank you Joe! Would I be better off trying to find the 7800 series, a quick look shows adjustable, no fixed ?? Fortunately I got a scope a year ago that's been collecting dust, all I have to is learn how to use it! No, the μA7800 series regulators would not be good substitutes. They are traditiona...

Re: Modifying a BMW E34 M5 dash (NMC9346EN chip)
The next part of the problem was that we wanted to move the configuration from the brown to the blue IC as that was the one we could write. Being twice the size I stacked 2 copies of the data from the brown code plug. Verification succeeds but the car rejects the code plug, and dash the dash is not...

0.5mm pitch micro and double sided SMD? That's quite a challenge for DIY construction. You might have to go with a PCB supplier that also offers prototyping.

Re: Knock sensor going of its head
Oh thought they were a 91 fuel engine. Just see a lot of old timers driving L67 statesman's and Calais etc around towing trailers caravans. Couldn't imagine them running them on 95 all the time Why not? With its higher energy content, 95 is not much more "buck for the bang" than 91. If th...

Re: Custer Dump Checksum
Ahh ok that makes sense, I guess it makes it easier when you know where the checksum is. Is there a way of finding the range for checksum, I’m assuming you’d use a dissasembler but even with that what gives you directions? Yeah, if you have a copy of the code and suitable tools, that's the most rel...

Re: Custer Dump Checksum
EDIT; how do you know that’s what it is, is there something that shows you what to look for with checksums? Well, I noticed that the two byte locations in question were a one's complement of each other (ie. each bit is inverted), so they effectively both provide the same data, and that data is 8 bi...
