The VN1 3.8 engines were imported from the US, the VN2-VR 3.8 engines were built here after Holden got all the tooling setup. I was doing my Apprenticeship when these things were new (well the VN anyway) and worked for Holden when the VP was being sold as well and never come across failed lifters. I also had alot to do with Lexcens for the local Toyota dealer because no one else wanted to work on them. Taxis would rack up ...

He may not have, I'm going to do some more looking around. I'll ask other dealers and see what they come up with. If I can gain more torque and hp I'll do it.

It wouldn't have to be much smoother than to be smoother than stock. The Buick in the VN-VR was a shocker for NVH.immortality wrote:With all these mods the engine was smoother than it was stock.

J'rod I measure my MAFs (I have 2) and on both the internal measurement is approx 65mm at the restriction, the inlet and outlet measurements are 75 mm. All unleaded Camiras had the Delco. JD Camira (leaded engine) had the old bosch setup, JD Camira (unleaded) had the Delco and so did the JE.
