Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
I hadn't changed it as I thought it was already set for the Innovate gear but just looking at it now the original numbers were very close. The bin had 7.3 to 23.4 and the LC1 is set as 7.3 to 22.4. I'd expect this to knock the 20:1 records down to about 19.5:1 so still way too lean.

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
Checked the timing mark on the balancer and it was a fair way off so the static timing has now been adjusted properly and it's starting to run much better. I also changed out the IAC for a new one and stuck a little block of wood on the idle stop screw to get a bit of adjustment out of it. Here's a ...

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
I read your message vlad and hoped that it was that simple. Did a quick beer run to the shed and the bevel is definitely installed correctly so I'm still stumped as to why the idle stop screw has virtually no effect on the butterfly position.

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
Got the exhaust sorted today and will wire in the WB controller tomorrow. I also took the throttle body off for a clean up and noticed that the idle stop screw doesn't really have any effect on the butterfly. Here's a photo of it adjusted so that it is just short of actually touching the throttle br...

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
Thanks for the help guys, sorry about the basic questions, I have read the tuning guides a number of times but it really takes some dealing with the issues for the knowledge to sink in. Pretty sure I'm understanding what's happening with the IAC now. Every time I do an idle run the IAC starts off us...

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
Thanks guys. It definitely shot the plunger out before the engine was started and there's a real good chance it was in diag mode at the time as I'd been playing around with it on a run prior to the log I uploaded. That would explain the clicking I heard a few days ago which made me think it was stuf...

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
Ordered another IAC. I fired up the one I have when it was out of the throttle body and it unwound itself and shot the plunger off into the distance while I wasn't looking. I did manage to find it and screw it back in but who knows if it's set properly so for $28 a new one should arrive early next w...

Re: It's Alive - Delco 173
Thanks for the help. I think your suggestion that the IAC might be rooted is probably correct. Went to do another run and it was clicking away before I started the engine like it was stuck but still trying to move, while the TP dash said it was at zero steps. The idle stop screw was not having any e...

It's Alive - Delco 173
Finally had the first attempt at starting my red 173 with the VK gear and Delco 808. Fired up after a bit of coughing and farting on the starter but couldn't do any decent length runs as there's no exhaust beyond the headers just yet. I've attached a log of the second short run. It's using the OSE_$...

Re: How to convert a 202 to Delco
Thanks Holden202T great info, we'll see how I go with it. Probably not ready to fire it up for another week or so.
