Re: Berry tuning tool
This is an obvious scam...... There's no way they are 'fudging' live sensor data via diagnostic port for ALL of those different makes/models. #1 - Sensor input (MAF / O2 / etc.) are pretty much still hardwired to the ECM. Even Drive by Wire TPS couldn't be spoofed like this since there is a hardwire...

Re: GM 16216588 - Hacking
So I pulled a 'real' file from GM and it lines up very closely to your read out 16216588 file. Differences are: - Start of GM file is offset 2000 hex - GM file does not have 8000 hex of FF that start at 00010000 in the 16216588 file. (^^ Makes sense as why would you include a bunch of padded areas, ...

For E38, you need to send it Upload/Download routines.
Also confirming it is 500k speed for programming/comms.

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
You can rewrite the entire PCM in non-block / low speed mode if you so desired. I wrote a program to work with old auto-tap cables..... The problem is ...... It's slow as crap. You really want to run in 4x / block mode. In regards to the AVT devices, plenty of experience with those ... ;) Before I l...

Any hardware/firmware people looking for $
As discussed in a previous post, I have a lot of knowledge on reprogramming, but not a lot of time. One weak area for me is firmware/circuit development. While I have all of the technical details and even some working hardware, I want to built a nice interface for 4x VPW block mode and GMLAN for rep...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
To keep it real, you are not talking about the boot loader, you are talking about the flash code which is uploaded to ram. the bootloader is in the bin, in the flash chips boot block. Yes/No. In general microcontroller discussions, the bootloader in general is the piece of code that executes on sta...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
would it be possible to use mutiple chips (ex. a controller, the elm329 for commands, and a flashrom for storage)? and what about a STN1110 instead of ELM http://www.obdsol.com/downloads/stn1110_vs_elm327.pdf and from reading the mc68hc58 ic it states that "When operating in block mode, the DL...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
You dont need 4x to flash. It just takes 4x longer without it! 1. if we could devise a way that "takes 4x longer" to reprogram the PCM I'd be ok with that. 2. According to http://www.akmcables.com/obdii.htm <--(typo here caused the edit sorry) the people who made the cable for LS1edit a &...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
Yeah, thats the sockets that ive got.Low profile. I havent bricked my pcm yet,but ive got the sockets and flash chips ready for when i do. :comp: :D Still not sure how to get them off and on but,hot air or a fine tip iron. Soldering Iron (I use a Hakko 936) and soldering wick works just fine. Heat G...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
Bricking ($60 + for a new PCM) is a very REAL possibility without the right programming antus, I'd like to get your setup. I'll Pickup the stuff to socket my pcm in-case-of-brick if you don't mind sharing your setup. Not sure if you still need a socketed board, but I have 5 or 6 of them collecting ...
