Re: Using e85 in our commodores

This article is interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_point . Flashpoint and auto ignition temp table. And actually I didnt mention it in my post, cold start is difficult to begin with. Was thinking it must be wrong needing to add so much fuel. This is for winter, summer 'cold' starts are...

Re: Using e85 in our commodores

Have been running United E85 for awhile now. So far think its excellent. Good power and economy isnt all that bad, maybe 30% worse, but hard to tell as the right foot kills economy really fast. The United E85 is always reading 82% on my flex fuel sensor, never seen anything different except the very...

Re: New to VX Commodore PCM ECU issues.

If i have the seed and security keys from it (about 2 years ago), and VATS can be turned off and on via the TunerPro software. Surely there must be a way of doing the same, even if it involves doing so at the lower level of direct HEX coding at the EEPROM address the data bits are located? By chang...

Re: New to VX Commodore PCM ECU issues.

There is no single command that can turn off VATS permanently in the PCM - that would not be a very good security measure! To start with device ID F1 is the BCM and F7 is the PCM, id suggest not just firing commands off as that may really mess things up. The flashtool firstly unlocks the PCM, it has...

Re: Engine light/fault codes, comms with 3rd party interface

Flashtool only opens the port when it is requested to do something (it will say opening/closing COMxx in the small details window). It does not leave the port open when idle. TunerPro can leave it open when not logging or doing anything (due to needing it open if you attempt a tuning change), this w...

Re: Chassis earth vs sensor earth

I may of explained it wrong. The 2 earth point's on the harness are connected inside the loom with a wire, I think. I have one pulled apart I'll double check Gotcha, joining earths together in the loom is common practice and works fine. Its just joining different types of earths together that cause...

Re: Chassis earth vs sensor earth

No they are still split earths. The coil harness on each bank combines the signal and driver earths to one pin each, the signal earth goes back to the PCM and the driver earth goes direct to the block.

Re: 1227165 ECU Questions

I just have two questions does this need to be done in tuner pro like the .XDF? The second question I have is which of these .ADX files to I need to be using? With or without calcVE? OSE_$12PV112_1BAR - Petrol.adx OSE_$12PV112_1BAR - Petrol with calcVE.adx Preferably in TunerPro, same warnings as t...
