Hi guys,

Claws is keen on seeing the PR90 I have stashed up in Clare... I mentioned to Chris we should actually drive some Belletts there and he was keen... I mentioned it to Duane and he was VERY keen!!!

So it's set! The date is Sunday 07 October.... which is about the only date we can do it on due to other commitments, but the BAD news is, it's the same date as the Bathurst 1000, which for some people is the only race they bother watching these days.

SO, Claws has suggested we make it an early one with a view to returning to Adelaide by lunchtime. Not ideal, but I don't mind coz I like Bathurst as much as the next guy.

The details are:

Bellett Cruise to Clare
Sunday 07 October
Meet reserve corner Shelley St & Milne Road, Tea Tree Gully
07:30am for 08:00am take-off to Clare.

Just to complicate things, the car is parked at my in-laws shed and it's the mother-in-law's birthday, so I'm unsure if I'll be roped into lunch, so while Claws and others want to return home to catch the rest of the Bathurst race in the arvo, I'll be staying in Clare, probably overnight and returning Monday morning, dropping Sarah off the work on the way.

My car will have rego and a baby anchorage point by then (if all goes to plan) so they will be with me!

PS read my post in General Bellett Chat regarding baby anchorage points and Bellett GT's...

Cheers,

Dave

Hells yeah! Super keen, but there are some issues with the car I really need to sort before any serious cruising takes place. My current financial position means there's a high probability few or none of these will be done by 7th October...but I don't wish to die in a fire ball of twisted Bellett by the roadside just yet.

Issues:

> Very wobbly and slightly unpredictable front end, may be assisted greatly by installing new Oz supplied bushes...just need a chassis manual!
> Wild pre-ignition after long runs, resulting in smoke emitting from the bonnet  ...hoping this may be just a fuel issue (will let you know next Premium unleaded refill).
> Hard, old, nearly bald tyres. I have another set on offer from a mate, but may involve a rim swap for slightly lower profile tyre...lets see that baby rev, eh? Would prefer correct white walls tho.

I can live with the shot exhaust system, unless it falls off in the interim.

Seat belt for junior will be sorted Thursday, so that's one issue down at least.

I'll keep you posted, as cruising is why I bought this thing, and I may never see another PR90 in my lifetime ;)

Cheerio,
Duane

i can help with a set of loan alloy wheels and tyres

may be able to sort out the tuning issues too. new plugs and points and timing setup should help lots

and even assist with getting under the front end and do the steering rack bushes and sway bar bushes. about 2 hours work there.

Maybe even have some time by end of this week.

cheers

i will be at this cruise, happy to warm any passenger seat available!

unfortunately both my isuzus are sadly lacking in rego, and the bellett is waiting for a make over as soon as space permits...

Paul you gotta hit up the historic rego!!!

120 bucks or whatever for 12 months!!

Florian would pass no probs.

Ratter may need a wheel swap due to mags.

SMASA club reasonable and is where most of us have gone for rego.

Got my 1967 Bellett GTR automatic inspected there last night!!

Yeah, you can't resist those "steelies". They just set off any Bellett :)

I'm in. No excuses for not going on this cruise, as starting point is......hmmmmm  . (Though it falls on a rostered weekend on, and will need to negotiate with the Boss). Some advice....when turning into Shelley Street, just come up the road a little and look for some clues ;)

Ah, its becoming clear now! Couldn't work out which PR90 you were talking about the other day, Dave. I thought they were a myth down down these parts anyway. So it's true, Dave "COLLECT THE SET" C.

Hey blokes,

As Bruno pointed out to me via phone, this coming cruise Sunday is the first day of daylight saving, so remember to change your clocks and be ready for a bleary-eyed start!!

Eeek! That's gonna make it tough...toddler's don't do daylight savings :(

I'll have to downgrade my attendance to 'possible' unfortunately. Tyres didn't arrive in time, but my mate around the corner is providing a handy option (as is 'oz' with his spare mags). We'll see, but early start makes it doubtful.
