The Isuzu Car Club of Australia have scheduled Classic Yass as the final event for 2016, the Isuzu Centenary. Even though it's pretty soon after the Nationals, a number of members and friends of the club have registered to take their Isuzus. Entry is free - get the form from www.classicyass.com or email Julie amos@wavlnksys.com.au ICCA have a number of local members but those of us that need accommodation have found reasonably priced rooms at the Hi-Way Motel. "Dress in the period of your car" is optional but fun. Some of us are also going to the Saturday night rock n roll dance too and may decide join in the Sunday activities. If you are bringing a car to display, please let them know you want to display with our club. The more the merrier!

Woo hoo! More Isuzus in Yass!
Gary Carter and I go each year, so our record is 3 Isuzus.
It is a good day with stalls and stuff, Tracy makes about 200 scones for morning tea ($5 with a bottomless cup of tea or coffee - proceeds to Rye Park School P&C) and there are trophies for the cars. Best Asian, most original car, best car and costume combo are a few.
Cars are parked up motor show style in a park with gardens and play equipment that is located behind the shops and town hall of the east side of the main street. They start at the south east end with the older cars, progressing north westward through the years. This puts Belletts right in the middle with other '60s cars.
There are billy cart races that serious contestants travel from interstate to compete in.
In town there are arts displays and open gardens around the place. (Apparently, I've never gone looking!)

Just to show off, this is Aunty Mary last year - Most original car.

Most Isuzus ever!

And ....The first bloke that spoke to me as I stepped out complemented me on Doris. He remembered fondly his mates' Belletts back in the day, said he thought they were realy under rated at the time, and reckoned the first series were the best! Especially the dash.
Then he said, "What was the ute version called, a Wasp?"
"Yep, thats it"
"I know where there is one".
He took my phone number! :D :D
Happy day! Matt.

Could it possibly be from a BMW Motorcycle ?

Look up Jay Leno Garage on youtube and watch the episode with the two minis, one red and one green. In there the red salt flat car has an A series bottom end with a BMW motorcycle head. Perhaps the same conversion ?
