O.K.,so it's all getting a bit local, but there were old cars on show. And 3 of 'em were Belletts!
We have held our 2nd ever 'Boot Sale' to clear out some stuff here in Rye Park (Pop. 70-odd), and added in a display for some interest. We had a stack of working stationary engines, pumps, tractors, trucks, a huge old single cylinder hay baler, even vintage chainsaws.
And a few nice old cars.............

A highlight for me was seeing Dad's old grey Fergie tractor fully restored & also out for it's first showing. I bought it off my Dad years ago when he sold his block, and it had been sitting waiting for work. A mate in the villiage bought it and with the money I bought the Wasp and G.T. (projects!)
Result of the day - Some stuff out of the shed (more room for Bellett bits) $100 in my pocket, $1500 into the Rec Ground coffers & lots of yarns. All good!
Cheers, Matt.

Really is nothing like being a part of a country community. You and your family are very fortunate Matt.
City life is just not the same. My son and his wife are in a small country town in the Riverland and are just loving the whole country life and feeling of knowing people and life slowing down a little.
Keep those great photos coming too.

Chris

Thanks for all the responses, fellas.
Dave M -
Yeah, Davo's right. That's Betty, '67 manual with '66 1/2 motor. Her story is in 'My Bellett'. (Must update now she's FINISHED!)

Ken - 'Doris' on the left (my '66 auto), Betty, & Gary Carter's '67 auto. Flag will fly in Gulgong this weekend!

KB - Sorry, no Fergie pic - Gary didn't get one & I had a sale site to tend. Must go see Teddy & get a portfolio. It's in his garage next to the Ford Ferguson and the Diesel Ferguson. Just before the display he bought a later model fergie 'cause the ex-mine is a '49 model and they're a bit different. I think for him Fergies are like Belletts for me - ya just wanna 'collect the whole set'!
His car lives outside.

Chris - You are so right, and we really value it. Locals here are SO welcoming - I think they like the fact that some Sydney escapees would choose their town over someplace else. Still like visiting Sydney & rels, but could I stand that traffic ever again? Nup.

Redback - Thanks. I've had fun.
Hey, if you ever want to see what frost looks like, come for a visit. You've got until melbourne cup day! (end of frost season)
Cheers all, Matt.
