101 - Basic Tuning Of A Delco ECM With $12P

Post by Holden202T »

Well guys, its been a long term thought of mine to make something like this to hopefully help alot of the general "how do i tune" questions, so i've started banging together a bit of a document for such a purpose.

Please post any info you would like to see added in there or if anything is not explained well enough etc and i'll endevour to get it added as time permits.

i have just updated the first post with a new file, it now has version numbers so its easier for everyone to keep track of weather they have the latest file or not and it has a few corrections, i highly recommend anyone who already got one to get the latest version!

also please stay tuned, in the coming weeks some of us guys will be working on a second edition which will cover some of the more advanced stuff and some of the features that are $12P specific.

Things we are looking to cover:
* boost tuning (using the boost ve and spark tables)
* flex tables (creating and using for different functions)
* using custom message 6
* setting up map switching for different fuels etc

please if anyone has any suggestions of topics you would like to see added to either the basic or advanced guides post it up so it can be looked into.

great work guys :thumbup: I wish I had this when I first started out. I went back through my posts and all the questions I asked when first starting were answered in this doc
This is defantly the best tuning site that I have found for info on tuning delco (well any) EFI cars.
Keep up the good work, I just wish I had half the knowlege that you guys have on these systems
Looking forward to the next installment :thumbup:

Really looking forward for this instructions for the 12p. I just finished putting the 383 back together with the turbo and it's all in the car today.

I can start it and look at it. But not game to rev it because last time i did that with the new turbo it blew up first rev. I need to learn everything asap because i can't drive the car till i tune it.
hurry please. lol.

Thanks
