the chassis number is stamped on the chassis itself, under the floor, on the passenger side. it's on the crossmember that is near the rear of the cab (the C shaped member that dips under the tailshaft), and it's stamped it the front face, practiclly under the passenger seat. you're looking for a 7 digit number, beginning with "80######" (mine is 8010978). they don't have the "KR" prefix stamped on them anywhere. they're normally a b*tard to find these days, as they are covered in 40 years of crap/oil/grease/road junk, so a rub with a wire brush is usually needed to see it. let me know how u get on. cheers.

KJB wrote: What was the Wasp Chassis number range for those in Australia ? anyone's guess is as good as the next. honestly, i've really tried to figure it out many times, but can't come up with a plausible answer. i built my Wasp from 2 cars, the other which i still have also, and it's chassis # is 8009278. we have proof that there was only 1 shipment of 122 cars imported in 1965, but as to how the chassis numbers can vary by over 4500 numbers between your and my cars alone, i'll never know.... KJB wrote: How many Wasps are known to exist currently? KB off the top of my head, maybe 17-18, including cars that are on the road, complete ones that need a resto, and those that are just a wreck that's been ratted for parts (but is still a cab and chassis that someone could use if they were VERY keen.)

Found mine too. It's 8006070. That makes the closest two KB's & mine - 97 apart! Hey, mine's the oldest so far. Trivia value!! Cheers, Matt.

seems mine are the odd ones....... all the others so far in in the 6000's and 7000's, but my 'spare' is in the 9000's, and the one i rebuilt is over 10000..... but being odd suits me, so some will say!

My count for stylesides is 7, unless opr-910's is one, then 8, Waspy. Yep, single figures! Rare as. Nice find! Cheers, Matt.
