Hi

Just thought I'd post a wheel and rim I got off a wreck I was given.
The wreck is a 66 or 67 sedan.

Yep I did clean it up, I was thinking of mounting it on the wall if I can find an okay hubcap to go on it :D

Cheers
Rob

Thats okay thanks for the offer davo

I have a few lying around, probably in much the same condition.

Maybe a little scothbrite and autosol should make one presentable ;)

And yes MrFibbles I am looking around.
Have you checked with your friends at the tyre place if any old ones come in.
Same goes for the 5.60-13's

Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob,
The barn-find Column benchy came with a SET of Olympic Airides - I'd say drove into the shed on 'em in 1979. Still on it & still holding air! Pretty crazed though!

Rob,
Japanese up to mid '60's - after that not sure but I would imagine would all still be Japanese.

Thanks guys that's what I was suspecting.
My is not an original but a replacement.

They came in from Japan with the Japanese Dunlops,
and thus were either replaced with Australian manufactured Dunlops or the ubiquitous Olympic Airrides.

The barn find looks so cool on them Airrides ; )

Cheers
Rob

Dredging up an old post here, but I was showing Mr Flibbles my Florian's spare the other day and that was a Dunsafe. Forgot to note the size and it's not an unused tyre, but it is still a serviceable spare.

What's the deal with DUNSAFE? While I assume it is DUNLOP + SAFE, I would have thought the marketing people might have suggested something that did not include the word "UNSAFE" might be more appropriate!

If you guys do want crossply tyres for authenticity, there is a company callaed Antique Tyres ( which operate in most states ), that still supply most sizes. Generaly they have "cheaper" brands than the original, but can order Dunlops in at a price.
