without a word of a lie, when the alarm rudely woke me up this morning, I was dreaming that I'd scored a Bellett MX1600 coupe. I only saw it from behind, but it had the louvre rear window and was probably the MX1600II because I've got a 1/40 model of one I keep on my desk at work, but while that model isn't very detailed, in my dream the tail lights etc had small chrome surrounds and I even remember screw holes, etc. I don't know if they really had that, but it made the dream feel very real! I did get a drive of it too; I remember sitting very low and laid back, but that was a fleeting vision... I didn't want to drive it too far because the temperature gauge didn't work. The car was in my Mum's garage; I remember opening the roller door and seeing it from behind. 2LDOHC was there as well. Then next thing I remember, I was sitting on Mum's front porch with 2LDOHC and another friend who is completely not a car enthusiast (Olivia) and I had the non-working temperature gauge in my hand. I gave it a couple of hard taps and suddenly it went straight to HOT, so it was stuck and the car was actually overheating, so I couldn't drive it anymore. Of course, it didn't matter that it wasn't actually in the car... Interestingly, it was a stand-alone gauge like a Yazaki that you get in the regular Bellett GT, rather than the sedan gauge that has been giving me some grief of late. When the alarm went off, I was most disappointed. Anyway, that's the story of when I briefly owned a Bellett MX1600II... in my dreams... literally! I don't think she did. Olivia is another one of our friends. I could just imagine how bored she be if I was talking about the nuances of Yazaki temperature gauges... |
