Hi guys, Long time owner of 1966 GT bellett. Got it as a replacement car back in 1988. It was totally original Gun metal silver with red interior. Alas was destroyed in a rollover. Alot was salvaged and put into another 1966 GT, bought 10 years later. This one became a project and even though mostly original, was restored : Painted metalic 2pack sea blue, 1600 bored out and high perfomance parts, two inch trumpet for exhaust, black interior, mags. A true gem I love driving as it's got so much character (and hoot to boot!!) Got on to the site to meet more of us nuts!! Looking to get back brakes fixed as they siezed open after mothballing for a few years. Still driveable though. Front end needs some attention too: rack ends, bushes, ball joints and rubbers required to take the slack out of things. Allow me to get into the hills with it, were it really likes to be driven. I'd like to find some replacement bucket seats, or get the originals reapolstered. Which is best? Can anyone give me info on above issues? love your site, Just like my GT.

Cheers.

Welcome aboard GTtoo!

Good to have another SA guy on the site and keen on his GT. There is atleast two of us here in SA keen to get out for a run in the hills... Once the temperature drops below 40C anyway!

Look under the SA event section and keep an eye out for shows down here, we need more Bellett's at the shows to spread the word :) All Japan Day is coming up and we have two Belletts in that already, my sedan and Dave's Wasp so a GT would complete the set.

Thanks for the kind words on the forum and I hope you keep coming back and enjoy yourself!

Cheers,
Ross.

We have three Belletts for All Japan Day coz my ratBellett is entered as well!

Per the SA Events thread, if any of you SA guys want to stick your cars in the show (don't be shy; they're very receptive to older Jap cars whatever the condition... trust me!) then get in and do it!

It would be great to see a few cars there! Especially to remind people that not all old Jap cars are Datsuns or Toyotas!

Cheers,

Dave

Gee thanks guys, your responses have knocked me over and got me stoked. There is a brother hood of "Bellettdom" out there after all. Dave, GO THE RAT!!! What, no promo girls ?!? I'll look out for you guys on all Jap day. Won't be hard to find. I'm sure you'll spot my little beast too (but you'll hear it rocking up before you see it, probably)

Cheers
