Howdy Folks

A long time lurker of this site I've finally enabled access as part of my research phase.

Am looking at eventually buying some form of classic and genuine car and the GT Bellett features as high on the options list.

Am still friends with a family that owned two GT's in the 80's and the youngest brother to my best mate still runs a silver GT they owned. As P platers I got to ride around in that car so they feature in my past.

I'll post some pictures soon of other toys I have, in the Other cars and Bikes section, including the replica car I own as my current passion. Am looking to attend some events too in the future.

Cheers

Steve (Slowy)

Thanks Sticky and cheers.

Silly me, I did take recent photos of the car.

So here's my mate's old Bellett when his brother came to my place last year.

Anyone across the club recognize it?

YEP, very tidy car Steve, have seen it at some of our Events, same model as my GT.
GT's very hard to come by unless you wish to do a lot of work on the car, very good ones, like your friends, do not come up for sale very often.
WELCOME ON BOARD!!

A welcome from me too mate, always nice to find another who admires Belletts.
GTs are rare, but so are Cobras. Most of the owners I know with road going cars are pretty attached to them. They do come up from time to time though, and the great thing is they are worth putting money into a resto, if you have it.
Best of luck, always great to see a car brought back to the road.
Cheers, Matt.

That GT is owned by Ken and Craig Reed.

Thanks all folks and yes I have worked out a GT is now a bit of a rare beastie here, so more the attraction.

PR91 wins the chook raffle.

I have known the Reeds since circa 1972 when I went to secondary college with Craig's eldest brother and my mate Mal.

Mal was the lucky driver of this car for several years.

Have seen a lot of Belletts on Goonet as a Japanese car sales site but am guessing there's a significant risk to buying this way.

Am well aware of the asbestos import requirements, so do Belletts pose any issues in this regard that members are aware of?
