Guys, If we can find a maker, I could be interested also, maybe one of our Clubs could could back us????? Surely there would be others in our group that would either need them or would like a spare set?? Dave M. |

Mmm nice idea but would be very expensive i think. I built my Hotrod exhaust system from 316 stainless and a hell of a job. Twin system of course. I used mandrel bends from the steel headers, which are none too cheap either. S/S tends to crack also under very high heat and of course, goes blue too. I think the mild steel and ceramic coated is the way to go. You need to find a exhaust shop with a mandrel bender which is not too common. Or buy a bunch of bends which is what i did when i fitted the Toyota DOHC engine to my old white GT and weld them up. Tedious to do and even worse to do many of them especially after you watch a shop doing it with a machine. If a set could be used as a dummy and a jig made from it, a shop should be able to make as many as needed and a spare or two. BCCV might look at it maybe ? glenn |

I had a plate made for the race car $80. I have a set of gt one here that are rusty let me know if you want plates made and i will get some done. I can see if he wants to make a set of extractors from the dummy set i have ? Or i have a gt engine here i can fit to the sedan i have the front cut out, a guy in our car club has contacts to cut the plates and he works for a exhaust shop. |

Hi Greg since i am not an offcie bearer of bccv now, it's best for the BCCV Pres. or Parts officer to bring this up with Committee and see which way to head i think. Your offer of a rusty set to get started I am sure would be appreciated. glenn |

Post subject: | Re: GT Extractors WANTED |
even rusty should be ok for a competent maker i think and if a few a being made, a jig could be made off it I don't have any contacts for making these but one of the BCCV Comm. might. In the end it will depend on the demand i guess glenn |

Tentatively I'd have to say 'yes' - keen as, but have notoriously unreliable finances presently. Cost? |
