Post subject:  Thermostat Housing

Hey guys,
Does anyone know of a thermo housing that fits the G150 please, mine is crapped out and is beyond repair.

The bolt holes are 65mm apart and the hole for the thermostat is 54mm diameter.

I am going to refurbish the water pump as well at the same time - does anyone know who could do this for me please?

I will have to send it away to do - as no one in Darwin can do it for me.

Would like this done pretty quick too - so any help in appreciated.

Cheers in advance.

Neil

PS I tried to upload a photo from my ipad but failed - must be too big.

there is a thread here on thermostat housing......
http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1950&p=16545&hilit=thermostat#p16545

sorry can't help on the pump but there has been recent chatter about this too

this was on past posts:
It turns out that the thermostat housing from a 1967 - 1981 Toyota Corolla is the right shape and dimensions to fit onto a Bellett G151 engine.

Part no for thermostat is TT1-160 avail at supercheap and repco or any parts store, brand name Trident. I would take top housing with and try to match it, and yes I would replace thermostat, they do 2 things, when car is cold ...

Post subject:  Re: Thermostat Housing

Mike at Repco Darwin spent 5 hours this morning looking for a waterpump for Stinky...........there is 1 (one) in New Zealand..........which he cannot get here..........

He can send it to a bloke in Victoria - who has done a few of these (probably for a couple of you guys on here).........for $375 (OUCH)

I think for that sort of money I will do it myself with the help of a few friends up here with presses etc. and also CBC Bearings to match up the old ones.

Any one got someone who could do it a bit cheaper?

anyone...........anyone..........Bueller?

There always seem to be a few on Yahoo Japan, which you can access via Import Monster; the process will take a little while, mind you.

Also, PM me your mobile # if you can.

10 brand new ones turned up down here about 18 months ago......
Someone bought the lot, but I've never nailed down who it was, so someone has a stash.
I suggested grabbing the lot (i think they were $100 each....?) to distribute, but people stuffed around and we missed the lot.

I GOT ONE (2 actually I was so excited)

Part Number: PWP1001 (Protex Water Pump)

$82.65 each plus postage

FROM:
http://www.eziautoparts.com.au/index.ph ... 01&x=0&y=0

Seems to be an Australian company too (bonus)

I don't know how many are left but I thought everyone on here would be interested in cleaning them out :)

Ten years in the searching for me to get one of these - so I hope they arrive and are the correct ones. Crossed fingers

Cheers,
Neil (now the proud owner of two G150 water pumps) Ingram

Hi All
Very Interesting
I rang the importer of Protex Water pumps in Victoria
They informed me that they have not sold 1 since 2009 and have a backorder of 50 or more but unable to say ETA
They couldn't tell me what motor they suit but sent me this photo as the actual pump

Perhaps you are onto something

Please keep us informed

Cheers
J

That's interesting. One wonders where the back order of 50 might have come from? And one would guess, for LUV's not Belletts?.

Maybe a group buy would get them here quicker?

I put 500 and 1000 of these into my cart to buy and didn't get a knock back saying nil stock.......so fingers crossed these turn up and are the correct ones in the picture...

$82.65 each is a gamble I am willing to take (living on the edge hey?)

Well
If they are indeed the right one then we could do a mass order of 50 or more just for the forum I am sure
Problem being how do we know they are the right one until we get our grubbie paws on one to test fit

Interesting to note the listing for Holden Gemini in the Protex catalogue is different which is promising?

Cart and horse stuff

:D

the 2nd link had a listing for them as LUV and Bellett so it sounds like they are the real deal.
