Bellett 4 door sedan ? year. Fair condition. Free to good home. Bring your car trailer. Nowra NSW

The story of this car is: it was bought off eBay last year by a Bellett enthusiast for restoration. It was left stored at our place since then and now the person who bought it has passed on and no one seems to want it  If it doesn't get claimed by end Sept it will be going to the recyclers. :o

Please message me if you want to pick it up or you want a photo. :)

Awesome!
If the nationals road trip wasn't starting in 2 weeks I would have come down from Brisbane for it myself.
At least I'll get to see it and give it a welcome to the family hug on the way home from the nationals when I stop in for some other goodies.

Oh yeh that reminds me.....
Excuse me Mr Orphanage, Donkey needs to put a dot on the 'dots n dashes' road trip map for the run home.
Rod's place at Penrith for a little parts pickup  (and to hug a little teardrop)

CRIKEY! A bloke goes away for a couple of days and all of a sudden its "Free Belletts!!" :o
I gotta get me one of those new Andriod tablet thingies, so I can check Bellett.net more often! (Well, I have to get one anyway because our camera is busted, and they take a pic I can see!) Most days I at least quickly check the 'For Sale' and 'Wanted' posts. ;)

Davo is correct, I looked at this one a year or two ago. I told him what I could afford, (about what Davo had suggested to him it was worth) but he wanted 3 times that!

Rod, thanks for saving it. The seller told me it had been his father's, and he'd rebuilt the motor 20 years or so earlier, but it was never ran. So if you can unstick it it might be great, but being stored near the ocean so long, it may well be toast.

Thanks Sticky and Oz for the fuel offers, nice to see the prioity is that they are somehow saved. :)

So where was I, and where was BembokaBB?? What were we doing??
Well, I was going to show you, but the pics are in Tracy's phone, so I'll have to add them later.
We were on a mission to save 2 Belletts!! Yep, while this was happening we were in Sydney loading one each onto trailers. I'd been told a couple of weeks ago about 2 sedans waiting in a bloke's garage for someone to come rescue them. The owner had decided he was unable to keep them any longer, so after a little negotiation one is in my shed, and one is in the Broth's shed. Gotta share the love!

Cheers!!
Matt.

Dang newfangled teknollygee! Can't get them photers outa the walkaround tellyfone no matter what I tries. :?

But neither could Rhys, so I don't feel so bad. Machines just won't talk to each other.
I was going to spray them with aerostart, but he didn't think that would help. :?:
Works for Belletts!

Better buy something even more complicated............(Tablet thingy)

To tell the story, I'll start a 'My Bellett' thread once I can get some pics, but briefly -
The seller was a NSW Belett club member back in the day. His wife bought one of the cars new in 1967. (Now mine) It has done 75,000 miles since new. He bagan a resto, fitted scorpian discs, bought a new booster, bored to 1600 & rebuilt the motor, cut & plated the few rust spots, re-manufactured the dashpad, bought new shocks, altenator, etc. Then stripped it to bare metal ready to spray. But the painter moved and wasn't able to do the job, so it was left 'till later. That was 20 years ago.
So theres a nice even surface rust patina. :( But its as straight as, and everything is there. Only needs cleaning off, painting and assembling, and it was stored inside, so its not as bad as it might be.
The second car (now Gary's) was bought as a parts car, but its pretty good, Good enough to still have the plastic on the door trims! Just some rear damage to repair.
And there is also a complete set of spare panels, plus a few, including unpicked rear guards, plus motor, manual box, etc - pretty much a whole car, sans body shell.
A good job lot!

More soon,
Cheers, Matt.

OK folks ,here she is ,warts and all (and there are plenty of warts :( )
picked it up friday afternoon ,and got back home after a 6 hour round trip.Poor old thing needs a lot of work - the sun ,weather and Aussie bush have not been kind.
She has been off the road since April 1981- over 32 years !
I haven't had time to even get her off the trailer yet - 2 stuffed tyres dont help.
I will upload a pic ,and if it works ,I will put some more up .
Cheers ! Rod.
