Re: checking and setting iac steps Holden VS V6
This evening with engine hot, i took a log and i was going to look at setting the VR V6 iac position/steps. when i start the car, in the log the iac steps increase, then settle rite back to zero. Now im wondering why this is?
How am i suppose to set the iac steps at idle, when its sitting at zero.
Logs attached below.
EDIT: the xdf i used for this is $11B_V106.xdf
the adx i used for this is VR_$11_v1.05-tp5.adx
(I'snt it annoying having the iac screw where it is on the VR V6)

Im not sure what you changed, but both of those files run like there is data, but none of the gauges show. I loaded the one on my system from the other day and it works OK. I did just update tunerpro this afternoon, but if tunerpro broke I'd expect the old log files would stop working too.
Some IAC is normal for a cold start, one of the things it does to start easy cold. If IAC is at zero steps its trying to bring the revs down but it cant. It sounds to me like your IAC is fine and you have other problems but I cant see the log.

Sorry Ive tried 4 different ADX files with the above 2 XDL logs which I have re-downloaded) and tunerpro shows 4-6hz data like there is something there but none of it is valid to tunerpro and nothing on the guages. I try again with an earlier xdl from an earlier post andit works fine. Im not sure what you have changed (adx I suspect) but no joy with the new files.

Here's a screen record of my laptop, playing the log. https://youtu.be/ai7Us27Jqik
What could be wrong with the gauges not working?
cheers

i cant see the title bar to see what adx your using. I suspect your using something that frames the data up differently to the ones you were using before, and which Im using now, so that the data is being rejected as it plays back on my side.

If you are getting down to zero IAC steps than the throttle body butterfly is out of adjustment. Try winding the adjustment screw out 1/4 turn.

Re: checking and setting iac steps Holden VS V6
Evening, hope all is well.
Been adjusting the iac on the VR V6, im still seeing it at 0 steps/position. I'm attaching a log or 2. I'm still unsure if its correct, and if i understand the proceedure for setting the iac. when at idle and the engine hot, with all accessories of, should the iac steps on the VR V6 be 30 steps ? When the steps are set, is that when i hold the revs at 3000 for 20 seconds?
Thanks
Pete

Re: checking and setting iac steps Holden VS V6
Got home the other evening, and checked the setting on the VS v6 iac steps, engine was at running temp.
I'm thinking there's some thing up with the sensor, or the setting.
I adjusted the butterfly screw on the throttle body, and had tunerpro open to look at the steps. It would get down to 6 odd steps, but only up to 18 or 19 steps.
Any input welcome.

Yes, I tried turning the screw quarter turn, then I'd look at the steps, and it didn't seem right.immortality wrote:If you are getting down to zero IAC steps than the throttle body butterfly is out of adjustment. Try winding the adjustment screw out 1/4 turn.
I'll post up a log.
