DFIs and coil packs are getting hard to get, at least good quality genuine used ones. I've only found the good genuine brand new ones in the US for 400 odd AUD. AC Delco made in Mexico ones.
The off the shelf new ones sold now are garbage. They typically only last a few weeks to months before they fail. The coils sometimes are DOA.
Only ones I have not tried are the NGK ones which I heard are decent. DFIs, only the crappy china Delphi ones can be had in Aus and I think there are even worse no name ones.
Every time I got to the wreckers in the last 5 years, all DFIs and coils are gone before I ever get a chance. Very frustrating the least to say.

Re: Tinkers Rides rb30 to delco
Hey all, Been a while since posting but I have been here and have continued on with the jackaroo ignition module and 6+1 crank wheel. I checked the first posts of this project and can't believe how many years have gone by.... Like I said at the start I don't have a lot of money or time but i do what i can .I do enjoy just playing around with this stuff.
So this is where I am at . Got my crank wheel ,spacer , sensor mounting bracket . laser cut
I have follow a few blokes on here with different crank wheels /sensors/ coil pack firing orders/ .would have to say its been a bit confusing. At the moment with the engine on cyl#1 TDC i have the crank sensor pointing at the slot before the +1 at 10deg . check picture below.
Sensor is just taped in place at the moment.
coil pack plug order? in these pictues show different plug orders but i was unable to find a picture showing exactly where the sensor was when engine is a TDC 1.
At the moment i have coilpack setup as in picture 3 . Tried to fire her up just got backfire and flames ...LOL ....Also found MAP sensor stuck at full vacuum. So i have a new CHINA MAP on the way .The ign mod is TRIDON and the coils are prob CHINA. hopefully these part do not give me problems......

But looking at the motec delco picture of the coilpack I think the top picture n#1 (red motor) looks to be correct.
And there is a question about the polarity of the ABS sensor used for CrankAS.
