Like the CAN handler needs to know a 7 byte message is valid for error checking purposes, but the OS only reads 6 bytes to look for data that's relevant to it.
That was what i was thinking. OS only needs X amount of data to be valid, but system wants more. Then makes me wonder why some tunes have duplicate tx or rx id's. Was it a mistake or done on purpose.

Could be the same idea, right? Application A needs to read version 1.xx of the message, and application B needs to read version 1.xy of the message.

I've been going through an E40 os calibration today, I've found similar switches and code structure to what i had to change on the E38 to support the IMS & turn off the NSBU, along with the RX/TX stuff...

I put in a standalone controller on couple of VZ Clubby's, so being able to remove that & go direct would be sweet...

so looking like my suspicions were correct, by changing the RX/TX settings around on a later T43 calibration 24249179 to the earlier 24243170 it fixed the U0100 loss of communication error.

I need to go pick up the tailshaft for it, so hopefully be able to load on the dyno over weekend if i pull the engine harness off and rewire it properly.

Good to hear you are making progress. Did you have to change all the required ID's so they match the Holden CANbus set, or was it just a data byte length mismatch issue?

I had to go looking through my files as i have been playing and broke the comms. lol.

ecu stays the same. I just made changes to the RX device index to remove all the modules that don't exist when i copied the corvette system segment over. Again matched the original T42, since the vet segment seems to monitor more ECM data.

then matched the t42 TX settings over to the t43. I've been trying to break the comms again and having no luck. I think when i started changing stuff in the ecu is where it goes bad. haha.

Tailshaft is in, i pulled the engine harness and removed all the old trans plug, neutral safety switch wiring & T42 controller.

Wired in the tapshift tonight, got it working on 2 x TCM oses, what i wasn't expecting was the dash showing every gear it was in.
