Greetings mates...The Bellett GT's restoration has begun The car history: Quote: Hi I recently bought a 67 Isuzu Bellett GT , but the car is in a really bad shape and disassembled, but some parts are missing! I'm from Portugal and this isuzu model wasn't commercialized here, so it's very difficult to find the missings parts. I've searched on the web and then I found this amazing forum ! I need your help! Quote: ...it´s really bad, looks like a suisse cheese!
Exterior and interior parts are missing...bumpers, seats, Steering Wheel damage without the wooden circle, center console, door handles, etc, etc, etc.
The body of the car is really bad, many years in the street at the rain...it's really rusty and with so much holes In the pillars to the roof top, the floor has big holes. I'm going to take some pictures...I don't know if the restoration compensates...please give me your opinion and help. Thanks Link of my intoduction: http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=541The Bellett GT was originally fom Mozambique, an ex-colony of Portugal...it was registered here in 1979.

I wish you luck on your project its a long process with plenty of highs and lots more lows.As for parts anything you cant buy over there from parts supplier's ect let me know.Try Dick from holland for mirrors, tail lights, door handles ect.He also has other bits send him a email or pm.Water pumps i got from the pump house on ebay usa g150 forklift.yahoo japan auctions. i have been getting parts.anything you need does come up just keep watching but not a cheap option by the time it gets here (a part i bought recently $35 aus that fits into a normal envolope $95 landed in aus).keep the pictures coming.

Great to hear from you again and see that you are going to do the restoration. There would be very few left-drive G.T.s in the world. We want you to succeed and will help where possible. Thanks for showing us & please keep us updated. Dick probably is your best contact as he is on the same continent. Good luck & cheers, Matt.

Hi Earthp
I've never done up a Gt but I've seen cars in a lot worse condition than this done up. Just remember not to think about the whole - just do bits at a time. Everything you do is one thing less to do.
good luck the patience will be worth it especially for a LHD Gt Andrew

It's a nice barn find but the car seems to have a lot of work. I don't think the chassis can hold the car together coz it is filled with rust.

Dont give up 1 repair at a time it will come together. None of my gt's were in tip top condition to start with but in saying that they all have room for improvement . but they are alive n well

The Bellett GT its in pause mode...I'm restoring my other cars. My 81 Corolla TE71 GT DOHC it's almoust ready to start rolling And my 73 Celica TA22 it's OK, but not 100%. The money isn't enought to take care of all cars at the same time, the Bellett its waiting. But it's really bad, so much rust ...maybe it's better to buy one in Japan/Australia/etc to make 1 Bellett from the 2 cars.

The benzel will come apart on the tacho, speedo if you look behind it there is tabs where you would have twisted it off, twist the plate blow ot so the line up remove the plate there will be three rubber strips that will centre the glass, remove the glass and the chrome strip another rubber mount. Now you have the black bit only a coat of black paint and they will look new.

Before paintingt the benzel I will send it to galvanize Are the belts original? The red fabric and the strange colour on the belt locks?
