A Question for the Guy's and Gal's If we were to sail on the Spirit of Tasmania on a Wednesday evening for an early Thursday morning arrival into Devonport, do people wish to have the day (Thursday) to get the "land legs" back before starting the "nationals" on Friday morning or should we just get straight into it on Thursday, I'm just looking for some feedback. Cheers Steve & Peg

I would do the boat trip few days before anyway. in my opinion if you choose the weekend and we will sail in our own time. General talk most are making holidays out of the nats anyway.

i think the straight into is good, BUT, what is the 1st nights stop.... ie how far on the 1st day
Do you have a very rough Itinerary Steve..... ie how many days all up and where we might stop at night (ie multiple stops or one place and 'tours' from there each day?... no details needed, just an overall time frame.

Thanks Steve, as Greg said we will already be there as we are making a month long holiday surrounding the Nats. Dates will be handy for Tracy to book leave, but what you menttioned in Adelaide would be ideal. There is the thought that many like a day to detail their cars after long trips, so a landleg day might suit some. Alredy excitemented! Cheers, Matt.

Hi Steve, As I mentioned in an earlier post "Whoever is setting the date for Tassie 2014 can it be early October or Early November to avoid clashing with The MOTO GP ( date still not announced but normally 2nd or 3 weekend in October) as my framing assistant goes to it every year and I plan to go to the 2014 Nationals whilst still keeping my shop open."
UPDATE: The MOTO GP date is almost certainly 26 October 2014, so 4/5 Oct or 11/12 Oct would suit me well.
Cheers, Lewis

Hi all, all I can tell you at present is that the Nationals will be held Thursday 16th - Monday 20th October 2014 at this stage, we are still trying to confirm accommodation but at this stage Rods comment of Ulverstone is not correct. We are working on Devonport. And for Glenn, one accommodation place for the event not multiple places, hope this helps all. TT Line (spirit of Tasmania) do not open there special event bookings for Oct 2014 till Nov this year. Rest assured we will keep you posted when we have confirmation from many different people Cheers Steve & Peg ( 2014 organizers )

Hi all Suzanne and I are sorry we weren't able to catch up with you all in Adelaide as we really enjoyed the Merimbula experience and friendships last year. We've been busy doing house reno's. Thanks to Rod for keeping the Tassie flag flying. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all over here next year and will be going flat out to get the track car ready for October. It's taken a back seat to other stuff lately. Devonport's a great spot, centrally located in northern Tas with easy access to great scenery and winding (some very winding) country roads. YP
