The Bellett is going in for a bodywork quote next Saturday...before I get too far with it, does anyone have a bever panel? Surely someone has a wreck?
Glenn, PM sent.

Glenn, PM sent. you can make one at home, tedious maybe, but can be done. I did one on my GT (now Daves) I replaced about 2/3rds of it from the bottom where the main rust is, upwards. Any decent bodywork place though should be able to do it also. Time is money though. Heres a good one

Yes, I figured as the sedan was the same there may be a wreck laying around somewhere. I have a feeling mine may not be repairable, so might be looking at a repro panel unless I can find a secondhand replacement...very unusual rust in mine, probably likely to storage in a damp shed for years. However, undercarriage is otherwise mint, including the boot.

However, undercarriage is otherwise mint, including the boot. most Belletts i have seen get water down in that area and of course they rust. Same with the bottom of rear quarter panels as you know. What i always do when replacing these sections or evn those that are OK, is to open up the crappy (tiny) weep holes in the bottom and i also add more to let the water out hopefully. I open them up with a largish screwdriver, push it in and twisting a bit also trying to keep the 'expansion' on the inside so not visible. To add more, do the same thing, push a screwdriver in selected spots between spot welds to make additional slots. Once all repairs done, add copious amounts of fish oil and let the excess drain out of the new holes !

Thanks Glenn, good tip! That beaver panel certainly looks a hell of a lot worse than mine, but I have the feeling there may not be much of mine left after wire brush or sandblasting. I guess I'll find out next week when it goes in for a quote.

a side topic but I had a cracked foglight and two brackets for them.
I promised them to Degruch, but can't find them now.
Did anybody get them from me in recent past??? Maybe I already gave them away (I can't recall) If you got them, let me know PLEASE.

Duane even if you found a good panel on the outside it would not be so pretty on the inside and probably to thin to weld anyway. new would be worth the xtra $

Speedo procured today, still searching for everything else...however, the body guy didn't seem too distressed by the beaver panel, so maybe I'm overreacting there.
