Hi All My name is James and I am a Bellett Tragic My dad brought home a grey 1965 pr20 when I was 15 and taught me to drive in it I subsequently scared the living poop out of all my friends having to 'back it in' to make up for rather non-existent brakes 30 years later I'm living in Tassie having moved from Sydney I have 2 Pr20 An early 66 white with GT stripes and bonnet and a 66 from WA with a g180ss Currently fitting out for club days with a g161 bottom end and square port head Have fitted a garrett T25 turbo but head is cracked so having a few problems (Anyone with a spare allo head would be awesome) Anyway as the nationals are in north Tassie this year what a great way to make friends with other 'tragics' Cheers for now James

Welcome James "Asroc66", Nice to see another Tassie owner. User 'yellowperil' is in Hobart and also building a club car. He is also a top bloke. There are also non-forum owners down there, and I'm hoping to run into them as we tour around in Sept-Oct. The Nationals are a must I reckon, especially as you are so close. You will meet some great people with many Bellett stories. Yes, there are quite a few tragics. We are booked. For legal/insurance reasons it is an invitation only event, so for an invite send a PM (private message) to BELLETT69. Steve and Peggy are great, but busy so do allow a week or so for the reply. To PM, just click or tap the button at the bottom of any of his posts, or find him in the list by clicking on members at the top of the board index. The head you want is fitted to early Chev Luvs, '73 - '75. (Square exhaust, Florians have the square intake, but round exhaust.) I'm always intrigued when I see Sydney escapees, as we are too. I was a member of NSW Bellett club in the late 70's early 80's, and again now. (ICCA). We are near Canberra. Cheers, Farmer Matt.

Hi James, and welcome to the forum, I am also a Bellett fanatic from Qld but at present in Launceston doing a house sit for friends that have gone to Europe. From memory I think the car you have is from WA, and was a sister car to the Geoff Stickmans car, now in Qld. Shame I did not know that you needed a head, as I could have bought one down for you. If you want to catch up and talk Bellett give me a pm and I will send you contact details.
Cheers Geoff

Hi All Thanks for the welcomes! Man things happen fast I have bn contacted by Stephen Thompson so invite imminent for nationals sweet Yes I have the 'Tangarine Machine' which I bought of the Buys family - top people and top little car From my avatar you can see her 'lifting her skirt' at Simmons plains. Not the fastest ( about equal with Datsun 240k's) but the oldest and coolest Man those boy racers in their turbo what knots thins they can drive Try stopping a Bellett from 170km/hr by sliding into turn at end of straight - LOL
Well looks like I need the Florian head - round exhaust and square intake - help please I would really like to take the turbo to the Nationals
Cheers James

Hi and welcome James, I wish I knew the "Tangarine machine" was up for sale at the time but I did however purchase Bill Buys blue 69 sedan. Nice guy and was a pleasure to have met. I don't know if you have this pic of your car or not (also posted under "Dear Donkey" thread) as it was prior to your purchasing it. I love it and glad it went to someone who obviously does too Attachment:

Mondeo model ? vented i guess? what diameter, thickness How do they fit? Adapted to Bellett hub ? Mondeo master cylinder also ? no water pump visible. are you using external electric one?

Discerning eye Let me say I am handy but not Skilled in fitting and turning requiring welding I fitted a Davies craig electric water pump on the front driver's inner guard under the overflow tank Re brakes well Custom and Cash - built by local race car fabricator All he told me was '92 Mondeo vented rotors, cross drilled volvo callipers so only 1 brake line and not 2 Custom fit to bellett hub requiring 1/2 inch spacers and minimum 15 inch mags. Datsun 120y master cylinder requiring knibble of suspension tower Photos attached Sorry cant help more Cash and lots if it!

It appears they are 1995 and up Mondeo by my disc rotor listing? 24mm thick, The TP Magna discs are very similar and slip over the Bellett hub if the centre is turned out slightly. OK on the master also. Thanks for the feedback. glenn

What carby are you using for your blow through set up James? I'm going blow through for my supercharged motor and I'm curious what you've used for your turbo setup.
