Hi guys,

Just looking to see what is about the place. I've got a shed full of doors, bonnets, engines etc and realised that I have enough to build a car but no car to bolt it all on to.

Does anyone (ideally in Adelaide but will look elsewhere especially Melbourne) have a shell minus engine/interior that is doing nothing or better yet getting in the way? I'm trying to avoid having to weld up too much rust so want the rear guards, sills and floor to be good. Behind the front guards can be dodgy but not too much ;)

Anyway, let me know what you've got kicking around. As I said, looking at shells only to build back up as the budget is pretty tight on this one.

Thanks!
R.

What a good idea, Ross.
I can only offer this one.

Yeah, its a long way from home, but it is a pretty good body. I've had it a long time, and it would be good to see it revived. It is a pretty bare shell, but with complete suspension. There is not much rust at all, sills are great, tail behind the bumper, behind the front guards, boot floor all solid. Interior floor was perfect, but may have some little holes by now, I'll have to empty the parts/junk out to check. There is some in the back guards, which has already been cut out. There is also just a seam starting in the drivers tower.
It would be a lot easier to do than some.
If you like I could get a few more pics.
Cheers, Matt.

Hey Matt, that's looking like a good base.. What are the floors like, and the engine bay?

I'll PM you to discuss further.

Thanks for the quick response!

Probably the worst bit, drivers tower. Still strong, but will need a repair.

Thanks Matt :)

This thread should be called, 'See where they rust'! It's got all the 'usual' Bellett rust but not in a bad way, just starting to show.

I think I'll be able to pull that back from the edge and get it on the road... Thanks for the extra pictures and I think I'll be seeing you very soon ;)

Cheers,
Ross.

Hi Glenn,
Green sedan still has a bit more work to get it going. Have just got a set of extractors done, still have some magna brake parts to get which are just about impossible to find. Re upholstery of interior is half done and motor could be ready for its first start up next week with a bit of luck. As far as getting it registered in SA that could be a whole new thread on its own but I,m just working on it bit by bit at the moment and enjoying it when I get the time in the shed. If its not on the road this year it will at least be going to our local race track , Mallala for a day :)

Hey Glenn,
Did you work on the green twin cam car.
A photo of the engine bay would be helpful if anyone there has one.
Need something that could help me get the spark plug leads in the right order.
All I know is that this was sort of a group project by members over there.
Not sure if it might have been you that told me that a few months ago or someone else from Melbourne.

I don't have any photos handy and from vague memory think firing order is same as Bellett OHV but could be wrong

A number of us worked on the body work, late into the night many times !

Hi Claws,

I know where there is an early model magna sitting in someone's front yard that has been there for yonks if your interested. you may have to buy the whole car though. I think it is a TP or TN model. I live at Glengowrie at the moment and walk past it everyday coming home on the bus.

If you want me to ask I can knock on the door or give you the address if you like.
