The owner contacted me as he would like the car saved, however the car resides in WA! :(

The owner has had the car from almost new, photos attached, mobile number 0478 833048. The owner knows of the cost to transport the car to the East and will take that into consideration for anyone who is interested! Who knows, it could be a freebee IF you pay all transport costs? ;)
Would be great if another can be saved as the current owner wishes.
The motor was rebuilt at just under 100,000 miles and has done 12,000 miles since the reconditioning. :)

I enlarged the photo and reckon the number is 4050888 which is 65.5, 4080888 would be 67.
Also i reckon that its a 3 bearing main engine, Low starter motor, alloy rocker cover but no breather or bolts which is consistent with late 65.

Sexy in Black !!

Can anyone advise how much it would cost to bring from WA to QLD, just a rough idea, I am interested, but there are limits.

Well I had Asroc transported from Perth WA to Melbourne by enclosed train over 6 years ago
I think it was about $1400....
Quite reasonable I thought as they picked it up transported from depot too.....
If you want to use truck then ensure they dont place it over the cab.....
Enclosed is really the only way to go

The owner said it has a 5 bearing motor, however he has a spare 3 bearing motor plus other parts to go with the deal.
The body is definitely late 1966 on, OR major body work has been done but not according to the owner, a senior chap.
I think the chassis number looks like a 408 number to me!

Agreed PA..MAN. A bit sun burnt, but a happy goer :D :D . Worth the pick up fee.

The emaculately restored Roman Red is still for sale around the corner from my place. They have put it back out on the footpath for sale, and copping the weather , such a shame. Would throw all of $4,700 at it. Drive away, no more to pay (if i was in my retirement fund). I drive past it every day and hope it doesn't get vandalised on the street. I think it's up on another thread, please save it someone !!

Yeah, fan looks pretty wonky, but I've got plenty of fans! What I don't have (any more) is a factory black sedan!
Hmmm......
8-) Matt.

Hi all you watchers.

I just spoke to Hue about his lovely little bellett.

However we need to sort out its over heating problem first.

Over 70 K/hr it begins to over heat (it's never been in the red). Has a new water pump, new radiator, no thermostat, overflow bottle, been flushed and been doing this for a while.

Could it be a bad temp sensor?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

That makes for 3 black Bellett sedans now.
There is also a black PR90 GT in WA too (not factory black though + it's running a Celica motor but it is a PR90 so who cares)

If there is "NO" thermostat in there then that could likely be the issue as it the water will be passing through the radiator too quickly and can't be cooled enough. Or if there is a new thermostat maybe the temperature rating is too high. Needs the 60 deg one to make the gauge sit right in the belletts.

Aunty Mary had the same problem. She had corrosion gunge blocking some passages in the head, and it didn't flush because the flush stuff couldn't pass through. Her head is alloy though.
Also, she had a lot of gunge in the block. While the head was off, I put rags in the bores and flushed the block with running water and compressed air into the block drain port on the left side of the block. So much stuff came out of the passages. More thorough to pull the motor out and invert it, but this was good enough.
Try the temp sender first just in case. And I would run the tt1-160 thermostat.

Cheers, Matt.

I believe it's actually illegal to have a classic car in black without white walls.
