Hmmmm, Yeaaaah....Good Gerry. And I have 2 brothers up that way. Pehaps we could combine a visit - Tracy should go for that! Here are the rest..... Bob's '65 Benchy - Just 2 teardrops today. Attachment:

And the Colt - '69 1100 liftback. There's a story here.... Attachment:

Brother Gary's son, Zac spotted it in 'Just Cars'. A quick trip to Tumut secured the little find, but about an hour short of town, Gary gets a call from Brother Greg - " I want you to look at a car for me". Long story short - Several other calls were made, and I believe the word 'Please' was used a fair bit. (Greg bought one of these new in 1968) A set of plugs, clean fuel, and a brake fix, and Greg was able to fly down & drive her from Bemboka to Sydney ( 6-7 hours) - no dramas! A rare little find - here are a few more pics. Attachment:

Thanks for going to the trouble of putting all the photos up Farmer. They all look great. The GTR is fantastic. Whoever the owner is..congratulations an an excellent car. I'd almosty forgotten about the little Colts. And while we're on about different marques I'd like to let Stickman know that the Datty 120Y fastback coupe is one very nice looking example of 70s Japanese design, good luck with it. But you know I have a bias towards 70's fastback coupes...not that I'm mentioning any ones in particular YP

No worries! And yeah, Tom's GT-R is/goes/sounds nice. Tom was a member of the Sydney Bellett Club when I first got my licence in the late 70's, and was a competative racer. He still has his PR90 race car. It was nice to look around his shed after motorfest.
I remember reading the Wheels "SCOOP" about the Datsun 1200 replacement. (Brother Chris had a 1200 coupe at the time). It was so rounded & swoopy & had that pointed third side window. SUCH a change! Pretty soon they were everywhere, and there was something MORE economical than a Bellett. Important now the energy crisis had hit and fuel had spiralled to 17 c/lt! Hmmm, I'm getting on a bit....
Sorry I don't share the Marina......appreciation. I guess my brothers had exclusively bought Japanese after finally getting out of ponderous old Vauxhalls & Standards, so I just couldn't look at anything even remotely from the "Old Country". But there's someone for everything - Motorfest is testament to that!. Cheers

Special. To the likers of all these cars, I'm glad that they are cared about. Someone has to save a few! EH's & XP's (& most things) were put in smash up derbys once because they were common & rubbish. Lucky someone saved a few. Cheers.
