Love the colour Pom B and everything else of course. It is a very fast colour. Did you search the colour out or just found one that matched as best to the original McLaren one? It looks very much like the colour I intend to paint my racer -Nissan Beacon Red. (just don't have the paint code handy now) with apologies to the rest of the die hards on the forum. I also seem to recall that BL painted some of their well-known fastback coupes in a similar colour......when I remember what make and model they were i'll let you know. Stickman might be able to help here

yes dave, the original McLaren car was an early deluxe. was also the only sedan ever imported to the UK, along with a lone GT. the GT still lives, but the sedan is long gone.

I like the idea of a calender shot Lemansvk, just let me know what you need. In the meantime here's a bit of film, shot by Polara Jim from the back of my mate Tim's pickup. This was at Goodwood and it shows us going through the tunnel under the circuit. We're not going to win any Oscars, but hopefully the Bellettisti amoung you will enjoy it. Bear in mind this was the first time Rolie has turned a wheel on English soil, so it was only exploratory. You might spot two errors....Yes Greg, you DID tell me there's no synchro in first (Ouch) and I DIDN'T remember that I already had race pads in, hence nearly climbing into the back of the pickup with Jim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0KZT6jUCac

Encore, Encore, !!!! Absolutely loved the sneak peak !! Some Rolie noises next time round, please ?
He looks rock solid in motion, as belletts do. The tunnel really shows off just how shiny Rolie is.
Pom, you look highly chuffed with it all, and who wouldn't be.
B.

Great footage. That noise going through the tunnel was unmistakeable. 20 years since it last drove anywhere, but that sound brought it all back. Great stuff. Cheers, Gary.

A mugshot of possibly the most insane person in Britain: Attachment:
Bellett - PomBellett's car at Goodwood - 02.jpg [ 49.61 KiB | Viewed 19886 times ]
He's imported an obscure Japanese car into this home land, done a high-speed resto-and-period-upgrade number on it at break-neck speed, then managed to get the thing running and on the track. Meanwhile his friends in the background are going "Ain't never seen one of them before, guvna. Is it an Alfa?" "Maybe it's some kind of Trabant" another would be saying. The MG-and-Jaguar aficionados, if they're anything like those in Australia, would be gasping "Well I never" between sips of tea and decrying it as an affront to all things good and proper in the classic car scene. All of which means, it's awesome. The image is gold though Mark - you (and I assume it's you) look SERIOUS. Like the freakin' Equaliser or something. Attachment:

Ditto, Ditto & Ditto to all the above admiration. Makes me really glad Greg came to the party in providing Rollie. Beautifull!
Nice to see they painted the fence in 45 years!
Cheers and Thanks for showing your side of the world how hot Belletts are. Matt.

Pombellett wrote: I like the idea of a calender shot Lemansvk, just let me know what you need. Pom, To get good print quality I need a high resolution shot: 300 pixels per inch at A4 size (28 by 21.5 cm) is what I print at. I imagine that the bloke taking the pics would have no trouble supplying this as he appears to be a pro. Because I make no profit from the calendar I can't afford to pay for pics, but I do acknowledge the photographer in the photo caption and am happy to include a website address. Either of the 'low down' shots would be great. Best to send pics to me at vichughes165@gmail.com Cheers, Vic
