Finally got around to flushing cooling system and fitting new thermostat (82c). Fired up the munro and monitored it and got up to temp, sits at 81-82 with no dramas ( old stat would sit on 92 all day every day). Havnt driven it yet as it took a few beers to do ( oil and filter as well :) so far all I can report is the temp gauge use to sit on 3/4 which after 21 years of ownership it's never done until this motor. I put it down to being the only different temp sender I've used in this car, 1st sender with this motor sat on full ( tridon ) so I sourced a VDO one that then sat on 3/4. With new thermostat it's back to sitting on 1/2 so the world is spinning in the right direction again ! Will report back next weekend after a flogging like a red headed step child :)
