E85 tune modifications

Post by 2inil8 »

hi guys im about to try e85 in my 355 runs 12.1 comp etc
i need a few pointers on modifying the afr tables and anything else maybe?
stoich i know is 9.76 thereabouts so to modify afrs subtract the dif from
petrol afr 14.7 =4.94.
correct me if im wrong :hmm:

Multiply by 0.66 if its 9.76:1 for stoich. Will also need to adjust the cranking tables as they are not stoich/afr referenced. 12P has been setup so you can dual fuel it easily using the map switch function, everything you need has map A and map B items.

Holden202 has ran his gemini on e85 so will have some pointers  There is a ADX in the 12P package for E85 too.

here is my e85 tune, if you want to see whats been changed compare it to a stock $12P bin and look at the MAP A tables that are different. (MAP A is for E85 - MAP B Methanol)

also as VL400 says, the cranking tables i adjusted by multiplying by the difference .... but having said that i have 80lb injectors so they will be way different to the numbers you'll need.

let me know if you have any queries, be happy to help, and i reckon you'll love E85!

you will need to keep a wideband in the car and keep an eye on the mixtures and keep adjusting if your using the caltex as the ethanol content is constantly changing

yeah thats the only reason i don't want to run it in the race car, whereas methanol is always the same purity!

That's why I got one of these testers
http://www.quickfueltechnology.com/spec ... -tube.html
then you know what you have.
just got to work out a way to adjust maps for the different % .
may be some smart person will come up with a external switch for the adjustments.
Don't make excuses. Make more horsepower.

where did you get the test tube from ?
looks like ive maxed my injectors 28lb from vy maloo ute
so will 42lb be enough or go to 60lb?
also detsroyed my starter motor,it stripped the teeth off
the plantery gear inside the starter, never ends
