Well my mate doesn't want me using his scantool to do this stuff, fair enough it's a $10k scantool.

Anyway i managed to find a tech1a for sale, nabed it for $300AU from a Gov auction, it's missing the NON OBD11 16 pin ALDL DLC adaptor pn 3000053 and had no cartridges, so im trying to get a hold of one, ive bought some cartridges on ebay from the US waiting for them to arrive and hopefully i can get my willem programmer to write to them. Im talking to a guy on just commodore forums who can hopefully get me the bin files for the vs vr systems cartridges. Then ill be away to start playing around and crack this puppy.

Sounds good Dr Bob, even if it's for loan it would be great, happy to organize freight both ways, let me know what you have.

So far i have been able to track down the bin file for the vs systems cartridge which apparently has the srs airbag stuff, key programming and all the usual stuff, so once both the scantool and the cartridges are delivered i will attempt to get the cartridge burnt and working, hopefully the two i bought are big enough eproms, the bin file is 500kb. Then just have to find a 16pin aldl connector to hook it up, i guess if i have to i can make my own just have to match the pinouts on the Tech1 as i wouldn't think the connector has anything special in it, but maybe not.

Hi,
If and when you get the cartridge working can you let us know what one you used to make it work
If you can let us know if the adapter is straight through etc it may help me to.
I have access to a tech 1 with only a 88 ecm cartridge and adapter.
would be nice to get vs and maybe vr working to.
Don't make excuses. Make more horsepower.
