Also this shop has 28 or 40 pin. You could probably use the 40 pin and cut off the end and glue the lid closed without the clip on one side. Or even just cut the unused pins off the bottom so they dont foul the plug and let it have overhang. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832570739239.html

I was also thinking maybe just using the standard floppy cable with setting ribbon back the 2 spots & then using a standard memcal adapter, but not sure if that will swap pins?

The pins are interleaved at both ends, and wiring should be 1:1 (though be careful if it looks like its not). Since its essentially extending the socket, check pin1 is connected to pin1 at the other end and then the end pin opposite pin 1 would be next wire (or maybe the other way around) and solder it right and it should be fine.
You can buzz out the original with a multimeter to get an idea what you need to do pretty quick.

First test, didn’t start but didn’t put fans on either… I’m hoping I guessed the wrong calibration or the dip32 is the wrong way but have the red(no.1) wire at top header marked on adapter & is the genuine moates ribbon for first testing!

Ok so I just tried the only 1 other calibration it could be 92118885 & it’s still not starting & obviously VATS was disabled in both files… I’m 99.9% sure the ribbon is the correct way so can only assume it’s got bad connection or pin swap at adapter to pcb may be incorrect?

could be connections, could be the cable is too long. Most of the pins should be available on that 2 row header at the bottom of the pic. It'd be a pain in the butt, but you could scratch the coating off the top of them and check each of the necessary pins on the ostrich end is present on one of the header pins.
You'd need to look at the datasheet to see which are relevant - data, address, we, ce etc. Also DIP32to PLCC32 might be proprietary to whatever programmer its designed for, it might not be 1:1. Ive had a look at this datasheet, it seems the flash chip is 1:1 so first I'd verify the adapter is also 1:1 then go deeper.
