Vlad's rides thread
I thought I might as well start a thread on the build of my car.
I have tons of pics on every thing I have done but I'll start with a few for the moment.
this is the car when I bought it. One owner car. Got it for $1100 because the tranny was dieing. Didn't matter as I don't do autos, manual it is!
This was over a year ago, note the dirt floor in the shed, then not the shed in the latter pics
This is ir currently. wasn't satisfied with the previous paint job the previous owner had got done. very nice finish and good adhesion but pure laziness was obvious with masking tape used around even the washer jets
So my friend who used to do spray painting on mustangs for movies and all sorts of customer is going to respray mine with a proper bare rolling shell paint job.
Eco-donka with VP looms, just to get an idea where to start. will be a compete remake and customization of this loom with all new connectors and fiber glass sleeving.
Some bits from rare spares. NOS and repo.
I have a fair bit of parts in NOS form. Pretty must most of the smaller stuff I have as NOS. Will post some of the older pics like the reupholstered seals, roof lining. Also have restored most of the plastic interior parts by hand.
NOS suspension parts, electrical etc...
Also in the works. VT beak upgrade with VH512 booster and 1" MC, superpro bushes all round, 2º+ caster control arm to k frame bar, Boge shockers, 20mm rear and 28~mm front sway bars, resetting the springs for 20-25mm lower ride. Want to preserve suspension travel as I have bad roads to gain maximum handling performance and I am not a big fan of lowered cars, only like a little bit lowered.
gonna be sweet!

Re: Vlad's VP executive
more pics, these are older pics from few months ago.
interior stripped.
Hand made underlay copied exactly like the original, did it all myself and had blisters after that. New carpet NOS correct seat fabric. Bought a set of series 2 seats 2nd hand and made new covers from them too. Seats done. Roof lining stripped. relined. Parcel shelf repaired and relined.
I guess that will do for now. Got some pics of the brakes and suspension bits.
Should post some delco stuff eh? or maybe the link to the hardware section where I posted some ECU and wiring related stuff.

Re: Vlad's VP executive
Thanks. I bought it for a quick cheap project so I could take break from spending many 1000s on NOS parts for my type 3 but not actually doing any work on the car. You get sick of it after 2+ years of solid searching and buying.
But somehow the VP turned into a full restro too I seriously can't help myself.

Re: Vlad's VP executive
hopefully get the paint this weekend as well as a door hinge pin extractor.
next up will be the air compressor as I don't have one, good excuse to get a 16cfm (12.3 FAD) comp so I can get a sandblaster later too.
I have virtually no tools, stuff all. so I need to stock up on decent ones.

Nice job.
What material did you use for the roof lining?
Cheers

actual OEM roof lining material, exactly the same as what Holden used.
got all my fabrics and vinyls from vyfab.
for me seats................>

"VP Executive steel blue" is the one for the seats the car had so it made finding it easy.
Google is your friend.

I am getting a Mc millan. Aussie company, Great support and parts. The tanks is made here, pump in Italy, motor unsure of and regular/filter Germany I think?
See heaps of factories use them and some of them are older than me lol.
FAD 12.3 CFM is the biggest I can get for single phase. pump output is advertised as 16 CFM but I only look at FAD (free air delivery) as thats what actually comes out of the air line.
