It says that the PCM is requesting 4th gear, if the box has a fault that stops it selecting 4th gear well it wont have selected it. Prob need a log where you can get on a freeway or road that is faster than 60 odd KPH and see what the RPM does.

On the monitor screen you can right click and choose what items to display. Charlay86 would have right clicked and selected 'Gear Ratio'.
1st = 3.06
2nd = 1.63
3rd = 1
4th = 0.7

Bump... Tried doing a ECU reset tonight so i will see if that helps at all. from what i can tell, below 70 it will stay in 3rd but just after that it will go to 4th. any ideas would be appreciated.

Without looking at the log 70km/h is about normal for a VY.
Have a look at a standard bin and matching xdf and look at the trams shift tables to understand how the transmission is programmed to shift. The strategies between VR and VY are very different.
VY also has 3 different strategies (shift maps) for when using power, normal and cruise control.

the Adaptive shifting code measures the time that it takes for a particular shift to occur, if it is too fast it lowers the line pressure slightly for that shift (eg 2-3 upshift). This is why shift kits can be troublesome with the electronically controlled transmissions, if the shift tables aren't corrected to suit.

yoda is exactly correct, have a look at the 3-4 shift points for a VY V6:

So in saying that, my car is shifting as it should be? Only reason i ask is because as soon as i noticed the shifting wasnt what it had been, my fuel consumption went thru the roof and hasnt settled down yet. just under half a tang from 140 kms. but not throwing a code when i did the diag. the only thing i noticed was the quad driver fault 1 & 2 and the low spped fan code 92 but have been told that is normal

Yeah it seems like it is operating correctly.
You will probably see slightly higher fuel consumption while you are logging, due to the high speed fan running the whole time (Constant high speed fan operation will put greater load on the electrical system).
