Interesting Project this one, Local Car club / Sprints day Organisation has donated a car VT V6 Auto to the local High School to get kids involved with cars hands on.
The idea is to get the kids to build a race car for the club members to race at the local sprints day, this a yearly event and will be an ongoing thing within the manual arts department, the students will then have a year between races to improve the car.
Being a Government school there is plenty of hoops and no money so i am lending a hand to help them out with what i can. VL400 has also donated a NVRAM and datalogging adaptor .
Currently Students are stripping the car so the body can be painted and rollcage fitted. The Sprints are in May so they are hoping to just get the car running in stock form for this year then they will have another year to improve it heaps!
Here's a pic of the car as it arrived. I will update as progress continues for those who are interested, obviously the pictures i post will only show the car and not any who are involved due to the usual regulations.

Great project The1.
There should be more people out there like you (and VL400) if they have the chance to help out the young uns.
Keep us posted if i have any left over bits from my V6.

Re: High School Project Car for Local Sprints
Awesome! I wish I could of done stuff like this in high school.
Best I got to do was drive one of those human powered vehicles that was on display on the wall for 20 years before I went to school and I rolled it on the first corner
The chassis was way too flimsy

I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.
Re: High School Project Car for Local Sprints
unfortunately it wont be ready for this years sprints, interior is stripped and rollcage is in but still being finished, they haven't started on anything else yet, so it will be next year for it's first race.
