just found some plugs on the old ecotec loom that fit the 2 and 4 pin sockets on the module. :D might hook it up tonight and see if I can get some spark.

yeah should work, i did the same to get mine going just spun the dizzy and zappety zap .... but you'll have to turn the motor over with the kickstarter maybe ;)

so IAC on ecotec loom for 4 pin plug, what was the 2 pin plug from ? air temp sensor or something ?

the 4 pin was from CAS, 2 pin was I assume temp sensor as there was 2 of the plugs exactly the same in the old ecotec loom I butchered.

I hooked the camira module up tonight with just the reluctor and coil connected (4 pin plug disconnected) and it worked first go! I now have bright blue spark through the camira module :D

next I need to fabricate an exhaust (dont want to deafen neighbours) and see if I can start the thing up with the camira module and timing light to see what my base timing is at. ill look at locking the mechanical advance mechanism then after that I will hook up CTS, MAP and ignition to my Realtime ECU and see how the ecu handles controlling timing. fingers crossed from there I just hook up injectors, IAC and TPS and run!

nice work man .... important first hurdle overcome easily!!!

just be careful running that module without it attached to some form of heat sink ... don't want to fry it!

i see im not the only one that uses the old jump start packs for testing :D

yeah, the module only ran for 10 seconds ill find somehting to bolt it to before I start the motor.
That was no jump start pack, it was a set of jumper leads running into my VL :P im picking up a truck battery from my mate tomorrow to facilitate testing..

thanks heaps :D as long as my mate comes thru and finishes the exhaust I should have it running this weekend on ECU controlled timing

Dont forget to cut the legs and then solder the resistor on to the pins leading to the memcal header, if you just add the resistor it wont be a TBI setup.
