Locked ls1 pcm need help
Hi all
Bought a Mafless tuned LS1 pcm S/H off ebay and need to change a few parameters on it like the vats and speedo settings however it is locked
I have EFILIVE and can do what i need myself but i need to know is there a keygen program or something i can use to pull the code lock so i can use the thing lol
if not what burner/reader and adapter do i need to read the chip to pull the code and change the unlock code to std
thanks Rod

Re: Locked ls1 pcm need help
There are a few ways to go about it, one is a simple seed request and key reply until its found which can be done using this ... https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=401 . Can take awhile though!!
Another is to remove the flash memory and edit a couple of locations - location 6000 has the 16bit seed and 6002 the 16bit key - then reburn and replace.
There are also other methods of gaining access to the flash memory but require some debugging hardware.

i have 2 cables both are from michael g w "wheatley" off ebay 1 is the vr vs type aldl cable and the other is one of his vpw ls1 cables
i cant seem to get a proper reading on the vin even
the vr type cable doesnt seem to work at all but i dont know what guts the other has in it lol

Re: Locked ls1 pcm need help
hey guys
I have removed my flash chip and tried to read the bin attempting to be smarter than i really am
what im wondering is now that i have the flash chip out umm what the hell is the code supposed to look like as it looks completely different to my efilive bins even the stock ones and at 6000 there is just FFs
i know there is a tuner using his own operating system and this might be one of his?????
anyhow i have got it reading/writing and verifying properly but i need to know if i can just dump one of my tunes directly onto the chip or does it need to be processed some way??????
does anyone have a stock vy 57 man bin read off the flash i could compare it to or some advice would be sweet
thanks Rod

Re: Locked ls1 pcm need help
also for anyone thats wondering i tried the key gen program wont work while the pcm is in the car
you need a bench setup and power supply etc to run it as there is too much system chatter from bcm, and all the other associated gizmos
the program cant decipher the chatter from the replys as the writer only used it on his bench setup
needless to say im going to build a bench harness down the track for the hell of it to have a tinker with and see if i can open that bin just for the hell of it to see if i can get it all working properly but for the mean time the flash removal seems like the easiest option

Re: Locked ls1 pcm need help
ill probably try that when i get it all sorted out
it has been noted that the abs bcm cluster and stereo all make to much noise but ill try just disconnecting the bcm as that is really what everything is trying to talk to
any luck with that bin file Rob by any chance??
