Hi
It sounds interesting. Are VE tables fuel/air ratio?

just curious to see how much difference between your VR Bin Vs CAKF and BLCB factory standard bins
First off I had to remove all the memory byte garbage in your VR Bin and also import the missing blocks.
So using your corrected Bin (MYVR-FIX.BIN) and comparing bytes I have two text flles showing the difference in size between standard CAKF and BLCB bins
BLCBMYVR.BIN Difference in txt bytes is 585,053 bytes
CAKFMYVR.BIN Difference in txt bytes is 34,268 bytes
Turns out that CAKF is much closer and probably what your bin is modified from.
Attached is your fixed MyVR Bin MYVR-FIX.BIN
BLCBMYVR.CMP TXT File
CAKFMYVR.CMP TXT File

Evening
Thanks Kojab for the fixed Bin file.
When you say fixed Bin, is that back to the state it was before I downloaded it with the aldl function?
What was the memory byte garbage?
Cheers
Pete

The VE (volumetric efficiency) is a percentage that represents the amount of air entering the engine. If you increase the number in the table more fuel will be delivered. It's all used for a calculation for how much fuel to be delivered. You can't go over 100%. If you do get to that point in the tune there are other parameters that will allow you to rescale the VE map.

I've got a bit to learn by the sounds of it. Have you done a few tunes, and did it take you a while to get the hang of it?
Can a tune be written to the eprom while it's in the ecm, via the aldl and flash tool?
Cheers

Yes the fixed Bin is exactly the same as before you downloaded it.Pete30nz wrote:Evening

When you downloaded it using the ALDL format it reads memory locations which are sitting/located in the PCM that is attached during the read process.
If you used an Eprom reader directly with the memory/eprom chip you would get the same result as MYVR-FIX.BIN

Kojab got me started about 10 years ago and I still haven't got it perfected. Always seems to be just that little bit extra you can do.

Re: VR V6 Memcal Bin Grabbed - How to read
I am interested to do a tune or burn a tune.
I like new shift points, and to have more down low torque if possible.
Maybe it's worth getting an eprom reader/writer?
I get lost with the location of these, where are they again?
Cheers

That's what I use for the ECU's with a memcal. I use a GQ-4X which has been superseded by the GQ-4X4. There was an Australian eBay seller darkwire that was selling them at a good price. Others might be able to make good recommendations You will need one to write your bin file to the flash chip (or eprom if you want to but you will also need a UV eraser).

I've always purchased directly firm dark wires website. Great prices and speedy delivery
