We landed in Tokyo today or new york I am not real sure. We went into the subway 7 story's deep underground with trains and kaos on every level. You aim for where you want to be if you look like colliding with them do not stop you will get hit just maintain your speed and alter your direction but keep moving. I have seen some cars a lot we do not get at home mitsubishi makes a clone that takes a series of nose cones rolls.bently jag the list goes on. We had a miniture kombi go past about 3/4 size of the real thing. another common car is a diahatsu clone of the mini. The other brands have 10 times the models we have. I think we must get the ones they cant sell.
I am glad some members have enjoyed the link to the motor museum it has taken me a few days to get my head around it but i have seen some cars and mainly isuzu stuff i never thought i would see and ol mate that ran the museum was suprised with our collection and passion he escorted us past the barriers to have a close look in side and popped bonetts ect for us. I noticed the middle sport had a centre console that took in the gear stick that went back to the middle of the two front seats with gt cluster in it the later sports had sedan interior.
Tomorrow is a big day as we hope to see the first of 2 fastbacks i need to charge the camera as i think the sports is stored with a heap of other cars .
I don't know if i want to come home to our filthy grotty cities governed by scum. News tells me the maggot was having a sook on tv hope she donates some of her own overpaid wages to the disabled. Tax here 5% large bottles of Jimy Walker at a 7/11 $14.00. And the food well every morning we are faced with the decission of sea weed,rice pilchards or beacon and eggs at this stage i do not know what sea weed tasts like. The 3rd night we were out we went to the hotel lobby and most was labeled and one was dish was not it was a darker meat so i asked what it was horse meat with this on the 3rd night and a traditional meal the second i ask a lot of questions before ordering food lets say the second night was a heap of tasty things that started with a soup of meat strips after all the questions i still dont know what animal it was but it was 10mm wide and layered about 40 mm long 1st layer was skin,2nd was fat 3rd was meat and the last was intestine.
I must go now for a spew and i need to charge the camera we only have one power adaptor.

Today was interesting we were in the subway in peak hour jammed into a local train packed not another possible body could fit in it, your feet are where they are, you cant move them there is no where else to put them down Then the next stop, 2 people scramble out from somewhere below and another 12 people come through the door. This happens at a few stops by this time you have hand fulls of peoples body parts. Your not quite sure who's or what you hope it's the pretty young lady beside you and not the old guy in front but no real way of telling and not much you can do about it anyway Then as the door is shutting a guy slams himself in backwards through the door and gets jammed the conductor gives him a huge shove to get the door to shut. At this stage you can hardly breath; serious your belly has nowhere to expand. We get off the train and they are doing traffic control with ropes stopping lanes of people entering the platform and to let other people move .
Well off that level and we are now on a bullett train this is like riding in a 747 only faster. yes faster. we have had a few rides on these things there are hundreds of them at this stage we have only experienced 200km ph but next week we get to experience one full flight. Tunnels are a pain in the ears as the cabin pressure doubles. When one goes the other way it throws your train with a hell of a sideways thrust about every 10 minutes. They also leap frog you when you stop, this you feel before it passes. The noise and the feel of the station as one passes at 200km is something to see and feel you are only 1 metre away.
We got to our destination railway station and gave the cabbie the address and he no understand. he call man to speak linglish he tell to go back two stations. 60 km away. we get there same deal with taxi there. they tell us to go back to where we first stopped We went to the info centre at the station. every station is a shopping center on this line and she made phone calls and we went to the first station again with her directions this time after a phone call and a 30 minute taxi drive we are at Takeeys and looking at old cars; hundreds of them. 1 gt rusted r.i.p it would be a early short bonnet jobbie with strip tail lights. heaps of other old cars of every jap brand. I only want to see 1 car the fastback i wait patiently while ol mate that speaks good english shows of hundreds of cars and 1 sad bellett. Then we get shoved in a old urvan and head to another shed and there sits a fastback with another 30 cars and 300 motor bikes. I opened the door of this dust covered poor ol thing and the smell of cigerette almost sucked the oxygen out of the air. I was checking this thing out 1 for condition and 2 i may never see 1 again. Lou one of the guy's with us said to him that i would buy it at the right price and suggested a price. But i was in love and a little shy at the same time as it will need to do some rust repairs soon and a new set of sills and a respray But mean while another one of our travel friends finds a prince at a price he cant refuse and talk of a 40ft container is on the go and somewhere in the mix of things the price of the 2 other cars trippled Long story short we walked away empty handed i found 2 other gt's as i went for a walk behind another shed while other enquiries were made 1 wreck, late model and stuffed and a peep through the door was a gtr badge on a pretty rough paint job.
From here back home to face peak hour again to see a lady do a reverse dive into a train but her hand bag never made it. It was so funny they stopped the train and manually opened the door as if they reopend all of them another 1000 people would have dived in.
To be fair on the fast back i would estimate it would cost alittle over $15000 to buy and deliver to aussie, depending on Takeeys price. this would see you with a resonable car but a little ruffy that would be driveable. but long term would need new sills as there is a fair amount of bog and rust bubbles around windscreen and other spots. we never viewed the car in daylight but i personally believe $15000 minimum outlay for a project bellett at this stage is a little high on current values.

I have another to look at a bit cheaper but not in a driveable condition. There is also a white one here that most know about also but i have not chased it. The isuzus i have seen for sale here so far are in fair condition. And tomorrow we go to the toyota museum where the white pr90 lives and a huge car show on sunday so still time yet for some more nice rides not that the ones i have seen so far have been disapointing. I think we need to look at lifting the insurance value as the cars for sale here are a lot easier to find but $ wise you will be out of pocket. by the time it was shipped.

keep hunting Greg and you may come up with just what you want.

and I agree, we don't realize just how good our cars are, and what it would cost to pay for getting a car to the condition a lot of the good cars in AUS already are.

She get's tired and sore but we are traveling with Irene also so the pace is slow when we can. Liz is more keen on a fastback then i so we will see what happens. Not another project .

I know what your saying re. cramped quarters on train. It's the same in Hong Kong. Tell Liz to hang onto her shoulder bag if she has one. Snatch and run can happen. And pickpockets.
I took the Bullett from Tokyo to Fukuoka. This is a city on the south island. KYUSHU. On the journey the train goes through
the tunnels. Some are short. Many long. There is a pocket of air being pushed by the train as it travels. You go into a tunnell
and it's pitch black outside. There was a loud BANG and then there were lights of another train going in the opposite direction. I did not know what was going on. I reckon I was whiter than a bedsheet. Never used them undies again. After, I realised that, in the tunnell, and when the 2 trains meet, the pockets of air collide and there is a loud explosion.
Greg and Liz. Sounds like your having a great time. Bring back memories of when I went to Hong Kong in '93 and Japan in '97.
Most of the people in Japan and in the travel industry have english as a second language. I'm surprised that you had difficulty
with directions. But it can happen.
Enjoy your trip to the full. Japan is a beautifull country and most of the population can't do enough for you. Especially Aussies.
