Bet that got your attention!....lol... Just a quick note to remind you all SEPTEMBER IS PROSTATE AWARENESS MONTH Hold a BBQ and invite some mates around ...... see info here http://www.prostate.org.au/september-awareness/ September is International Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. In Australia, September also means the beginning of Spring, Father’s Day, football finals, and end of season sports club gatherings – all great reasons to dust off the barbecue, and get together to start a conversation about prostate cancer. While prostate cancer is a male disease, its effect is far reaching. Wives and partners, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, grandchildren and friends – all are impacted by a diagnosis of prostate cancer. In 2010 alone, it is estimated that almost 20,000 Australian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Tragically, more than 3,300 Australian men will lose their life to this disease. This is why hosting a Barbecue for Prostate Cancer is a great way to raise vital funds and awareness about prostate cancer. We’re suggesting a barbecue – but if that isn’t suitable, it could be anything that brings people together. Similarly, if September doesn’t suit, or if you already have another event planned for another time, you can support the work of PCFA whenever you like. To find out more about hosting a Barbecue for Prostate Cancer, phone 1300 00 PCFA (7232), or register your barbecue here now. For more information about prostate cancer or the work of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, visit www.prostate.org.au |

Ya right Matt, and dudes out there. Always put'n it off Dad had a hell of a time before he left us at 76 with complications of the big "C". They even had to trim a couple of "acres" of him to make him more comfie. Now that's a poor option in my books. So if the option is even better than a "date" with your doctors finger, then it's worth every bit a prick. Don't know why I didn't pay more attention B. |

while i agree that this is a vitally important subject for all of us guys to face, i've had to move the thread from a "Bellett" section as it doesn't fit with a "Bellett" subject. unfortunately, the only place i can move it to is the "Nonsense" section, but as i've described, this subject is about as far from nonsense as one could get! as posted by other users.... if the demographic of male's that this horrible disease effects fits u, then please get a check up done. the old way of being checked was a finger where it shouldn't be, but as posted, that's all changed. these days, it's a simple blood test for a PSA check, so nobody has any excuse for not having it done. in my book tho, even if it still involved "the finger", then all i can say is.......... man up, swallow your pride, and get it done anyway. think of what the alternative could be, and what that would bring will involve far worse. finally, if you need any motorvation, don't look in the mirror.... look and your wife, kids, and grandkids.... i think that would get even the most hard-line of all people off to the doctor. cheers. |
