Greg and Liz, Well you Guys take care up there, what a mess!!! I guess not much can be done from down here, just take care, assistance is not being allowed in up there from what I am hearing in Sydney, they are trying to minimise any more probelms with people, my brother lives up there and he is totally frustrated by the rain. How is Geoff's place?? Dave M.

Geoff is ok. We are too our house is much higher than the shed and this level of water yesterday i have seen 10 years ago.So the shed pad was lifted to this level. We had 343mm of rain yesterday alone, they are talking another two days of rain . We lost 3 fences and our bore went under a lot of current so i hope no damage to it? We lifted the pump early, We have a shed in town rented and last night they were in panic mode i have not rang to see if his ok as he is better off doing what he is doing. I dont know how Lindsay or Dave are coping further up where the real problems are.

I've seen firsthand what these floods can do so ...
Take care all of you.
Cheers Rob

We are ok. The Belletts are safe. Our house and workshop are high and dry. Can still get into work via the Bruce Hwy. The mighty Mary River has gone down a little but we still have the water from Gympie to come yet. They expect the river to go up a little again.

Greg that is one stinkin hell of a lot of water!
I've seen your back yard when it is dry so I can honestly say that is a bit scarey to see. I was flooded in for two days at a mates place down the road a bit from you near the 'T'bone steak factory. We were saving his cattle in the bottom paddocks and got stuck on an island (surrounded by what barely compares to your backyard) for 2 days with nothing but a tractor and 40 head of cattle. Not the most comfortable camping I've ever done thats for sure. Brians missus picked us up on the second arvo with a borrowed jet sky.
Make sure you post a picture of the yard when it's dry to really give the guys a good idea of how much water that is.
Thats just crazy dude!

opr91 glad you are ok. We did not ring as there is bugger all anyone can do, unless they are there and the phone calls only stop you from doing what needs to be done. For those in brissie brace youself we are sending it down and there is lots of it .

We got footage of cars, houses and people being swept away through Towoomba this evening. Just horendous !! Can't half imagine how terrifying this is, but we're all asking Hugie to stop it, at least steady off and give you guys a break up there.

we're with all u banana benders! just take care up there folks, and many thanks for keeping us all informed.
the way us aussies all band together in disasters like this make me proud, especially with the support shown to our qld corner of the 'bellett family'. i think it's funny how we are quick to bag each other from different states during sporting endeavours and the like (all in good fun of course), but when the Black Saturday fires swept thru my area, the whole country banded together to help out their neighbours, and it's fantastic to see that happening again in another terrible situation, and i'm only too happy to help u guys and girls up north as u helped us all down here 2 years ago.
cheers. brett.

It's all very worrying when we see the shocking footage of Toowomba and hear there is more heavy downpours predicted. We start to think of all our friends up there & wonder how you are getting on, so thanks for the reports. I simply can't imagine 343 mm of rain in one day! We are at the footholls of the divide and water gets away pretty quick, but we only have little creeks. We had 54mm overnight then 57mm the next morning just before Christmas and that brought the highest flood in our creek for 15 years! I was telling my brother (at Arundel) & he said "From that little shower!" Stay safe & let us know how things are, if you have time. Thanks, Matt

Holy ker-rap Greg and Liz! Glad you guys are safe up there...those pics are amazing!!! My thoughts are with the folks up there, and downstream. If I see any Belletts down here with Queensland plates, I'll give you a call so you can collect 'em. Stay safe, and dry.
Cheers, Duane

Hey Stickman "Brighton" - sounds low lying. How are things at your place tonight. Charge everything up, they're talking power cuts. Hope you're all safe. Cheers mate. Matt & Tracy.

That was terrible footage on the news last night - my wife and I spoke about donating some dollars to the appeal as soon as it is up and running.
Keep safe

We just got milk yahoo,3 farms up the road are milking and letting run out on the ground as they cant transport it.So we got a 4wd tto it today. We had a hellicopter drop some supplies but unless you were there for a snatch and grab it was gone. lucky we had a freezer full there are 4 houses on our island and we had a street party today . A real street party table in the middle of the road we swaped bits. We hope to get out in the next two days as we live in the backwater of the dams and they are holding back as much as possible. The biggest problem of all is my race car was supposed to be painted on monday and the guy lives further up the creek and can't get to town.
