spotted this nice example of a Triumph Herald Convertible, down at Phillip island. Very late numbered Vic "H" plates and looks like a full restore.
Not many of these left I imagine, most faded into the dirt.

not at the island but closer to home, a Mazda 1500 in nice nick. A friend had one of the "SSS" models way back when.

Really nice examples Glenn, Not so long ago at the Mazda dealer near Blackheath I saw another beautiful example of the Mazda 1500 SSS in their yard second hand for $8999, obviously traded in, even at that price I think it looked worth every bit of that price!!

I don't think they sold many SSS's at the time, as they were pretty expensive. Never seen one since that one i mentioned in the 70's.

Don't mean to be picky, but they were 'SS'. There is one in the wreckers in Young, but all the SS bits are gone, save the grille. There was a pretty good 1500 deluxe on ebay recently, no bids at $2500. I was sure tempted, but no $. Dennis replaced his Bellett with one in 1968.
Thanks for showing,
cheers, Matt.

thanks for the correction....... too long ago now to recall. SS was very rare though.
I always thought the 1500 was a nice looking car, ahead of its time probably. Wonder how many were sold?

happy co-incidence, the SS features on Utube by Wasabi cars. For those of you who don't follow this guy, he's an Australian living in japan, married i think to a Japanese Girl.
