don't think theres anything inside the tank that would be hurt by gently pushing a small screwdriver in and wiggling it around to see if crap comes out....

Dave, do you mean the pipe from the side of the block? I dave removed them and poked thin tie wire through.if you can get a small hole through, compressed air will do the rest. Just don't twist it off the side of the block. Better to stay blocked and be mobile.

Well. You learn something new everyday. The convertible only had 1 horn. Non genuine. Not the big chrome genuine one.
Mounted on the right side. Onto the radiator support panel.
The white GT has 2 mount points on either side of the engine bay. The harness wasn't in the car when I received it. Good to know for when I get to the stage of checking the harness for dry joints, wires that have been excessively hot etc. Especially the ammeter cable. There are no flat clips like your car has to retain the wire.
Learnt something else today. The lower tie bar on the white GT is 45mm wide. The convertible is 50mm. Maybe for the 1600S OHC. No flat clips either.

Not much to do these Covid-19 days. After having the Sport for getting close to 8 years now (time really flies) I decided to get the interior done.

Up until now, the car was totally original. Seats and carpets etc. The carpets very badly shrunken. By around 50mm at least showing the underlay. Not pleasant but "original". Some holes in the buckets and stitching gone, etc. Broken springs and frames too.

Pulled everything out of the interior and used Resomat to line the floor from rear seat-back, right to the firewall. Should help with sound deadoning.

Rears seats in good nick so left alone but everything else re-done. Total front seat reconstruction, quality underlay, carpet, boot carpet and right through to a dash mat. Floor mats added too. Lots of other little detail fixes too.

Owing to the lock down, could only drive it home from the trimmers. Maybe next year we are back to some sort of normality.

A credit to your upholsterer. Having a pattern to go by and add on the approximate shrinkage
on the carpet is always a help. :)
The seats look good. What was the foam like. On my sedan and convertible Violet Crumble
comes to my mind. The seat adjuster was cracked on 1 of them and well and truly broken on
the other. Yours too?
You mentioned in another post that the floor was cracked on the seat support bracket where it
mounts onto the floor. My first job with the new Mig welder was that area. A big learning curve
I tell you. Not a pretty site but, amazing what underlay and carpet and a 100x50mm box
section tube will hide under the floor. :o

Hi Dave
Yes very happy with him. He did my other Belletts over the years also although gone down from a large business to just one guy now.
The foam was totally shot. Crumbling away.
The driver seat frame was broken in several places. Some of the captive nuts no longer captive either in the hinge sides.

One of the drivers floor mounts was cracked. Also repaired. He has a MIG welder etc on site to do those things too.

The two tone is original. Sort of a light blue. When i enquired about doing the seats a couple of years back, nobody had that material but apparently only recently it has been re-created. Its not "exact' colour but very close.

I am constantly amazed at what is becoming available these days. Your insert looks very similar to what I used in my Brother In Laws SLR5000 when we restored it , they referred to it as golf ball trim.
When I look at your seats trimmer has dome an excellent job.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same material. He told me it had been recreated and i imagine most would be for Australian cars. He had several shades of that material.

Wish I still had my SL/R !! I had a yellow 1974 4.2 4 speed back in about '75. And later a'77 LX 4.2 also.
