Ha! Awesome work guys...can't believe this started with an innocent post on the forum, not that long ago! Where do the Bellett overalls come from?
Geez, I'll be all over that Saab like a wet rag too, I love those things.
Cheers, Duane

Thanks guys, I've never been so nervous as when I was hanging around the paddock waiting for Robbie to qualify....all that time, effort and money to be condensed into 20 minutes with the car being in the hands of a total stranger (to me and the car) But I didn't have to worry, Robbie is the consumate professional, and when he bought Rolie back intact and with a half decent time I nearly wept with relief! I'll post Q1's times because Robbie was in with all the other interesting drivers. Attachment:

In Q2 I was slightly slower with a 1.48, but pretty much the same grid slot. We were totally thrilled with our qualifying effort, and beer was drunk that evening (Not our Rob, of course ) We now realise we are seriously under powered, having done no development work on the engine (even the Anglia developed 165hp).....BUT, apart from the Minis, there was no car on that grid that was significantly quicker through the corners than us. Anyway, check this out....does this happen to everyone who buys a Bellett? Attachment:

Yeah, well enough of that nonsense, back to the racing Robbie had a race long duel with the Fiat Abarth, and on Sunday I had a good race with the big Merc, until I got inside him and he spun out. We both finished around about 20th, and as you can see, that is bourne out in the final, aggregated results. Attachment:

As we both settled into Rolie we both got quicker and quicker, but it was on at about lap 7 or 8 that I realised we had never got enough heat into the brakes (Goodwood being quite easy on them) and suddenly we had real bite and could go much deeper into the corners....it shows in these sector times. We're really pleased with the cars perfomance, and we've got a couple of years to get some serious power out of him. Here's a pic I took of Rob taking his grid position. Attachment:

And here he is ready to go...I'm afraid I was just too excited to take any more, but I think other people have more, and I'll post any that I think may interest you. Attachment:

How about this one? Although I'm not sure whether Robbie's just taken the Galaxie, or the Galaxie is a lap ahead Attachment:

And this was pointed out to me the other day......the main programme for the whole Revival is like a car history book in itself and you've got to have something pretty interesting to get a mention................guess what?

There's quite a bit of footage on Youtube now, this one's pretty good, it's evidently filmed from the grandstand overlooking Woodcote bend and the chicane. http://youtu.be/h7Z11QOegcI

This would have to be one of the best stories of a neglected car and its restoration to racing on one of the most famous tracks in the world in GB. So many people are so interested in this cars prgress it is a credit to you Mark for taking on the project and to the Mollers for assisting you in getting Rolie to GB. CONGRATULATIONS Gents well done and lets hope it continues on with much more history. Wouldn't be amazing if the original owner could be located, if they are still on the planet, for them to see the car now????? What a great story to be told in pictures and writing for posterity!! The effort put into this car is simply fantastic!! WHO AGREES?? Dave M.
