Hi Belletters I've been promising to put up some photos for a while so here goes. I hope they end up in order. I had the choice of two different sets of rod - one set being the earlier ones which are slightly lighter (82 g each) and therefore attractive but you will notice a setback in the first photo that occurred with these so I've opted for the heavier, stronger later model type. They have more meat around the big end bearing especially, and carry bigger bolts. Attachment: OOPS.jpg [ 45.39 KiB | Viewed 11524 times ] Piston-gudgeon -rod assemblies are all weighted to 1 g. Two at 1137g and two at 1136g. Piston weights varied from 337 g to 345 g which required some "fettling". Other variables were in big end caps and 1 g variation in gudgeons. Attachment: weigh in.jpg [ 45.61 KiB | Viewed 11524 times ] New hi-tensile main cap bolts were check fitted by the chief financier, kero-cleaner, de-greaser, go-fer and part time casual would-be engineer. Attachment: Check fitting new main cap bolts.jpg [ 48 KiB | Viewed 11524 times ] Piston rings came complete with instructions - Perhaps one of our Japanese friends who visit the site can help? Attachment: piston rings complete with instructions.jpg [ 44.11 KiB | Viewed 11524 times ] End gaps checked out beautifully -13 thou for no 1 ring and 10 thou for number 2 without any filing required. The hi tech depth gauge for locating them squarely in the bores took ages to manufacture!! Attachment: Checking ring end gaps with hi tech depth gauge.jpg [ 39.4 KiB | Viewed 11524 times ] The guys at Wade Cams are very helpful. This one’s profile is designed more for massive (?) torque from 35000 rpm upwards rather than for brute HP/speed. Of course they’re good – they originated in Tassie many years ago (but are not related!!). Attachment: Racing cam.jpg [ 39.87 KiB | Viewed 11524 times ] I’m thinking a red colour for the body will also help. Does anyone have any ideas or know some paint codes? Stickman, if you know some nice red .............................Morris Marina colours, we could do them too!! YP |

Yeah, looks like the high tensile chief in the cap !! 3500(0) and beyond is when a pointier cam comes to life, but there's not many places you can do that around here without attracting too much attention, or freaking oneself out a bit as well. Go the "N". Patience makes perfections, B. |

Hey YP love the depth measure 3500(0) in a Bellett could nearly create a brown trouser moment. |
