The sound of a 1500cc Rat Bellett echos thru Mt Barker once again. Look forward to seeing her on the road and joining in our car runs. Flibbleesss once again.

Very cool starting point! Love the rat look. These small cars make 15" wheels look HUGE, perhaps won't look as out of proportion if it was lowered. Looking forward to future updates

Well took the bellett for its first officially registered drive today, to work! Drove really well. The reception at work was everything from "the dumps further down the road" to "thats cool when you getting a surfboard to put on the roof racks!" I figure a bit more work to the car with things like a battery clamp, come shocks, rack mounts etc shell be a good goer!

more interesting news, came back to work today to see a guy taking pics of my bellett. Stopped to ask him why and he says the he thinks this was once his car back when it was near new, seems to think the plates are the same and that it once was a nice shiny reddy colour with a lovely bone interior! Anyway he mentioned he had pictures of it when he had it, so i asked for a copy of the pics when he digs them out. Friendly older guy was loving that he has seen the car again, and that its local to him too!

That would be great to have some history on the car and know where it was for at least part of it's life! Keep us updated and if you're interested in selling those wheels I might know someone who will take them Cheers, R.

Congratulations A great save. It's heart-wrenching to see them slowly decaying in a paddock (not suggesting that this fine example is anywhere near that!!)
On another matter, do I take it from Gt Orpahange's post above that Coona is always the location for the nationals and that it is always in late October?

mrfibbles, You mention that you need/want some rack mounts. I have some new ones in the shed if you want then soonish. I'm sure we can come to some arrangement if you are interested. A.J.

Yes GTtoo and others. Another Bellett to do the great Adelaide hills cruzes. the numbers are not growing as yet with RobSA Ratter in the shed for some extensive repairs so he will be co-piloting for a while. But slowly and surely we will get the numbers up and the hills will echo with the sound of isuzu engines climbing the winding roads.
Wahhooooooo!!
Chris

AJ thanks for the offer, but i have a few things to do before i get to the rack mounts, among them fixing dead windscreen wipers and headlights.... she drives well and you really cant pick the mounts are stuffed, but you can pick that one of the rear shocks is definately well and truly stuffed!

wipers and headlights are usually fuse box related. Get some fine wet and dry and wrap it aroung a phillips screw driver and run it back and forth thru the inside of the fuse connectors. be careful as the metal connector strips can be incline to bend and then you may have one break as you re-tension it back into its original position. All good fun...
