My 1969 Isuzu Bellett was borne in Thames NZ brought new from Taranaki motors and lived its life in Christchurch NZ has just completed the round trip back to Taranaki its taken 50 years. I've added a pic and info in the history area also. My father in law worked there and seems to think it's the same car as he remembers it heading south to Christchurch.

Welcome.
That model is a fairly rare sedan in Australia and yours looks like a very nice original example. Nice car.
I am sure Bellett owners here in Australia would like to see more pics..

I like that you have parked it in your lounge room and moved everything out so it has pride of place. :)

Congratulations on a beautiful car.

So beautiful! Looks absolutely new! And to have its history like that is great. We look forward to more posts from you. Are you thinking of getting out and about to some car shows? We don't get to see a lot of NZ shows, and you get some interesting J cars over there.
Thanks for showing, and welcome from me too.
Cheers, Matt.

Looks great, but is that an early model engine? Possibly even a 3 main bearing.

Nah mate, check closely, alloy head 5 bearing. They went back to the square profile tappet cover in '68 on an iron head, then on the alloy head for '69. Slopey top with spin on oilcap was '67 specific.

Thanks Matt,
Only looking on an old phone, gets a little blurry when you enlarge the picture too much.
Fantastic little sedan regardless.

ab fab should the air cleaner be ''Bermuda blue '' that's my only thing I see cheers davo

Post subject:  Re: Hello from NZ

Air cleaner probably was blue but someone may have given it a "flick" of black paint at some stage.
If you notice that is a air cleaner for the "frigid zone". It has a choke type valve in the intake horn and you turn it so as the hot air is drawn up from the exhaust.
That tappet cover is period correct. My '68 sedan had one like that but I put a '67 cover on and changed the oil separator to suit. Stopped the vapor from the engine blowing oil all over the back of the engine and transmission.
