Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I guess I'm possibly the only Isuzu Bellett GT1600 owner in Malaysia. There is another, a sedan but its in a real bad state. I'm hoping to buy it from the guy to salvage whatever parts usable.

My car is currently in the shop, going through a major rebuilt and I will post photos of the progress soon.

Please checkout the photos below, taken earlier this year.

File comment: The previous owner had problems with sourcing replacements for the carbs and have
replaced it with one from a Mitsubishi Colt. It works okay but lacks torque.

Welcome on board!

I often thought the tail end of a Bellett would lend itself to some round lights and your car proves I was right! Actually, sounds strange, but it makes it look like an Australian-built Ford Capri Clubsprint.

Check it out:

Dave, the round lights came off this model mini van, I was telling you about.
Its a Mitsubishi Town Box or T-Box, they build these locally in Malaysia under Proton called the "Juara".

Yes you mentioned that in your email. Round lights have always looked good on the backs of cars like the Corvette and the Nissan Skyline.

Thanks for posting a pic of where your round lights came from; we don't have T-Boxes here!

hahahah yep true indeed.

Hey I was meaning to ask'; that's a nice steering wheel. Is that the original? It says "ISUZU" on it but I don't recognise it!

Cheers

Dave

Yes, the steering came originally with the car, so says the original owner (I'm the 3rd).
Like you said, there are no two Belletts that is the same. I sure would like to take a trip to the past to have a look at Isuzu's parts bin in the 70's.

Peace - james

Wow A GT in Malaysia!
But then you guys in Borneo have plenty of JDM olskools!
I've never seen a Bellett in front of my eyes.
The closest one is a sedan in this local movie - Tuan Besar
